So the VISA process got messed up... EAFIT didn´t include some of the papers i needed and the woman was abit of a cow anyway.... When i went back to ask more questions she was with a mate in her office dying eachothers hair. Hard worker.
Anyway, I gambled the whole trip and lost. I´m now stuck in San antonio but plan to head over to Cúcuta in the next half hour to find somewhere to stay until monday. Cheap is definitely what I´m after, but also safe.
Cheers
Christian

Loggi says on Jul 3, 2009, 12:17: Just take a walk over the bridge. The taxi fare is equal to one night in a cheap hotel. There are very cheap trucker hotels just as you enter Colombia and e few clean and safe hotels 3km up the road in Rosario which is walking distance to the border. sirwhale says on Jul 3, 2009, 15:08: I think you´re quite the pesimist stephen. The things that have happened to me are nothing short of normal. I´ve been in Colombia over a month now and should be able to survive a few more weeks before i get paid. I have a good job at EAFIT and should be earning 1,600,000 to over 2,000,000 depending on my hours... plus the classes are back to back, i get free intensive language classes of any of the 7 they teach and as i live next to the uni i can use the swimming pool frequently. Not to mention the girls ill meet working there.

sirwhale says on Jul 3, 2009, 16:02: Cheers Logi. Tomorrow i have to head into cucuta to pick up what EAFIT has sent me. I met a cucuteño in chile when i was there and i´ve got in touch and he´s gonna see if a family member can put me up tomorrow and sunday to save a bit of cash.

njc (Dev team) (☼Travelguide writer) says on Jul 3, 2009, 19:01: Yeah, if you're just going into Cucuta for a few minutes to pick something up I wouldn't bother with the stamps. Just take one of those buses that goes straight through the border. It should cost about 3 Bs.F or around COP$1,200 each way.
