Good Hotels in and around Armenia

I would REALLY appreciate information regarding the names of good hotels in and around Armenia. As we wish to travel to Armenia and the surrounding area several days prior to Xmas with visiting friends, Adriana (my wonderful wife) called two hotels. Their starting prices were in excess of $200.00US ($400,000.00 Pesos) per evening, and children were an additional $60,000 Pesos for each child. Yikes! All food additional, of course!! Has gold been discovered in the region? Regardless, in advance, thank you greatly for information.
