paying better? I hope they will start paying better. Because Colombians get paid SHIT! Colombians cannot jump start their economy because most of the wealth is concentrated among very few. And its the truth about economics, i am not a communist or socialist. In fact any one who actually listened and read when taking economics 101 knows this.

Money Concentration You are absolutely right about the concentration of money, just look at the US, with just 5% of the population it concentrates most of the world´s wealth.

Its called Capitolism are you trying to tell me that any of the latin american socialist countries have the opportunities that americans do? I hope not . We tried taxing the rich one time under president carter an it almost drove us bankrupt. Rich people keep there money in the banks when there taxed more , when there taxed less they invest there money an companies grow an people get jobs. Socialism has never worked China is about to blow up an there only coming to the industrial age which we went through in the late 1800's an early 1900's. An socialism brought down russian it can bring down any latin american country today as well.

Capitolism appears to have at least one problem. In a capitolist system, people apparently have problems articulating a reasonable sense of history.

mcraig, as I previously stated Open some books and turn off Fox news. Also Please name another socialist latin american country besides Cuba (this should be good). Noone here metioned socialism until you did and no one is advocating communism. Why someone would advocate a failed economic system is beyond me. By the way there millions of capitalists in the US that very much enjoy socialist programs. Social security, medicare, medicaid, GI bill, healthcare benefits, Unions. By the way the recession during Carter administration had alot to do with our addiction to oil and the national debt built up to finance Vietnam and the Cold war. Bill Clinton also taxed the rich and gave the lower classes a tax break. Which resulted in more consumer spending in the economy, which generated more income for businesses of all sizes, then the rich invested in these businesses and got richer.

what is your point ? The US should feel bad that we do whats right create jobs taken in taxes an have the biggest economy in the world. Well we worked our way up from sweatshops in the 1800', agriculture fields an this is what we have earned. We cant help it if we give other company monies to do the same thing an they screw up an pocket for them selves. other countries forgets the struggle of americans an they think they should be right up where americans are at without making the sacrifice its BS.

Wrong my friend Its the US citizens who forget the struggle of americans, because collectively, We Americans are ignorant about history. And Re-read my posts I was not critizing how American became a strong economy, I was critizing some fiscal policies we have had that definitely deserve criticism.
