As long as everyone thinks that the coast is clear, spring has sprung and green shoots are everywhere, the dollar is going to get hammered by the risktakers. When it goes south (as it will) and the market drops 5% in a day and 20% in a week (as it will), they'll all come running back to the US dollar crying their little speculative eyes out. Why they see the US dollar as a "safe" haven is beyond me but they do.

gringoloid,

"i had to tweak this strategy as well as add some changes.....it's a little different now from what i first posted and a whole lot safer."
What's the strategy you're using now? I'm genuinely interested in knowning. And also, you can't post one strategy and use the results of another strategy to justify the first.

So you made "several purchases", that's a great way to actually dodge the question. What about the dates that you bought on and the % of your YTD purchases that occurred on that date?

"njc, can you explain this comment below? can you think of another bet besides the one you mentioned? do you see the hedge?"
Maybe you can restate the question? It's not clear to me what the problem is.

I don't think I'll be able to play this North American game too much longer.

I'll be leaving it for the left-winger socialistas like Lacacique to tend to.
Who knows? Maybe the pendulum can still swing back "TOWARDS" center.
I have my doubts.

Soon it will be very expansive for Americans to visit Colombia or just any other country...but don't worry, GM, Chrysler and the big banks are saved...

Its true tasco, its very bad in a way that much less Americans will travel and other countries will see a big drop in tourism and feel the pinch as well, BUT its also good in a way that many more Americans will travel WITHIN the country and spend their dollars domestically and help out our tourism here in the US.

What is going to kill the dollar is inflation. When you print the amount of money they are now you cant expect the dollar to hold its value. If you print 2x the dollars they will be worth half as much.

makopp is right, sooner or later there is going to be a big paradigm shift. It will happen not long after China pulls out of the US without even ejaculating and creates a big gaping hole in the world economy. A lot of attitude adjustment will be in order.

La Huella... what makes you think China is being honest with the rest of the world about their own problems, statistics, and solutions???
You trust the fokn chinese government to be that righteous?
Does the rest of the world?
An intelligent pbher pointed this out to me the other day, and it's good food for thought.
I mean, the chinese send SHIT TO THE REST OF THE WORLD.
Remember the old slogan: ''MADE IN JAPAN''? And, what it meant back around 1955?
I think it's about the same for China now.

"said Daniel Arguelles, senior foreign exchange trader at Bogota-based brokerage Corredores Asociados. “I see a retreat among all Latin American currencies with the peso moving to 2,150 this week.”"
