i just left cali a month ago, lived there for 2 years....i was there for the last bomb of the police building.....i would say go, its all the same....i talk with my wife all the time and now it has kinda blown off, by the time you travel it should be normal, but always be aware that december is a pretty rough month at least in cali....lots of roberies, theft and criminal action.....lay low, stay in the avenia sexta/granada area, enjoy the ladies and you'll be fine....

Hola!

I am here in Cali now!

A few people out of 2,000,000 were injured at night time! It is sad for the local businesses too, but I don't see trouble here! Even an American fan says hello on the street, even though he knows I am a Deportivo Cali fan! That shows it's peaceful here!

Definitely go again and enjoy but as in any big city just be cautious. I was just there this past week and I did hear the explosion and I thought it was thunder. I looked out the window to see if it was raining and the next day I found out it was a car bomb. I was staying in the south and the bomb was in the El Centro.

I did not hear sirens, so if it was a bomb I knew it was not nearby!

Go man, go, and just pretend you are a fast walking colombian! I was just in Cali, crashed at

the Awesome 1/2 ghetto and 1/2 luxe hotel Aristi!

Hotel Aristi rocks, it just survived a uber bombing from the farc-tards. The colombians I met there were so sweet and surprised to see my white face. I hope they are all ok and working.

You will gawk when you see the calenos women there. Just go, lay low, be wise, dont compromise, and dont dont dont pull out your money when you are buying something. I got told numerous time to put my wads of pesos in my pocket and pull pesos out one by one.

Hola!

I keep my small bills and coins in a change purse. It is good for buying cerveza, bread, the bus, or soda.

Dude just go to cali. Costa rica doesn't even have its own army. Colombian army guys are cool if you just show them your passport and show respect, they don't want any crap.

You're just gonna see a bunch of macaws flittering around and quasi american tourguides giving tours for your $ cali is the real thing-you will witness real culture and cuisine-you have bogota that's 5hrs away and popoyan to the south. Tell your friend to man up and just go-its better with two than one. Four weeks ago I arrived in cali at 1am and had absolutely no idea what to expect. Just do it. Life is short.

I too was initially scared of going to Colombia but I am so glad I went. After that first visit I decided that I needed to go back 8 more times.

If it's a couple of guys Cali or Colombia is better. If you are going with your girlfriend or family Costa Rica is fine. Me personally I was disappointed in Costa Rica since it was so Americanized and Commercialized. I went to Monte Verde, Manuel Antonio, San Jose, Quepos, Arenal Volcano, etc. The roads suck in Costa Rica too. Even though there are Colombians in Costa Rica (prepagos) you can't even compare the quality of the women and the friendliness of the people.

Thats the same thing I told him, ive been to golfito costa rica and well it sucked. Its more for couples. I love the Cali party culture, I love the fact that the women work in the day and are not afraid to go out on a work night.

Dead up in the Hood, ain't no love lost
Got me mixed up, you drunk them licks up
Mad cause I got my dick sucked

I'ma spell my name one more time, check it
Its the, N-O, T-O, R-I, O
U-S, you just, lay down, slow
Recognize a real Don when you see one

We get over 80 channels, so why get picky? This is a cheap TV service already too!

hmmm.... well, I was living in Cali for about 18 years and the last time that I was there (just for holidays) was 10 months ago. Believe me things there are not worse than before which means that are getting better.

there are many good things you can find only in Cali and many of them that you can't even realize that they are AWESOME. I wrote a song last month speaking about it, if you understand the lyrics you probably will see what I mean... from London to the Branch of the Sky (Cali!!) http://www.cintexcol.com/alejandro/antiguas_calles.mp3

cheers.
