Girardot

Since I'm going to be in Girardot next month, I'd like to know more about it. I've searched for it on this site and found only a handful of passing comments spread thoughout the thousands of posts. There aren't even many resources for Girardot on the web, the only decent one I've found was www.cybergirardot.com, and the info's pretty light.

Now, I guess there's 2 Girardots, but I'm talking about Cundinamarca's Girardot, southeast of Bogota. Mi novia dice there's not really a lot there, just things to entertain the visiting Bogota folks on the weekend or holidays. Is there anything touristy there, or am I pretty much restricted to the clubs and swimming pools?

Since I'm going in August, one of the hottest months there, I'll be soaking some sun at the piscina, but is the heat humid or dry. I love heat, but don't want to sweat like a pig. It's funny, mi novia doesn't ever sweat, not even when running, roller-blading or anything.

Girardot my girlfiend is from Girardot, or at least her family is and she now lives in Bogota. I visited Girardot once. It's a bit larger than some of the other towns nearby and what I remember is that it's just a regular town and its true that there are a lot of stuff for those vacationing from Bogota. If I remember right, it may be a bit humid, but with the heat, you'll probably sweet a lot anyway, depends on how much your used to it. Many of the other towns are the same way, have not much more that the bars/clubs and pools. You'll have fun though. I spent some time around a smaller town called Melgar and had a blast renting a house for the weekend, that had a pool, a few times. Other than the clubs and pools I would expect everything to be done as the locals do it.

Enjoy yourself, Daniel

Thanks Dan I pretty much figured it would be a bigger version of Melgar. It was hot there, but not very humid. Since I'm in Japan, I'm used to the humidity, and think it's worse here than it'll be there. I also enjoyed Melgar. As I'm there to spend time with mi novia and her family, I'm not too worried about finding things to do, but since it is a vacation, I do want to do some things outside the house.
