My 12 year old and I will be arriving in Bogota early July. I have made an appointment at Gimnasio del Norte which basically was the only school that very nicely replied to my emails. Any thoughts about this school will be appreciated. BTW, my son doesn't speak or read Spanish.
Thanks!

IMorcombe says on May 10, 2006, 04:48: Bilingual Oh yes definitely. I wouldn't want to dump my poor kid in an only-spanish atmosphere. He is already complaining about the move, so I have to try to make things for him as easy as possible. Maria Ines 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

jaramillo says on May 10, 2006, 06:15: Well, I just "dumped" mine for a year of Spanish schooling in Salamanca. We only speak English at home so their Spanish was not strong. They're nearly bilingual now. My daughter (14) cried the first day, and probably will again on the last one. My son (12) has greatly improved his soccer. Yes, there is stress associated with it all, but also a tremendous sense of accomplishment. They beam with incredible pride when we praise what they have achieved.
