Hi All!
I am coming to visit Medellin for the first time and I would like to bring a gift for my host and hostess. Can anyone recommend a good gift to bring from the States? I was told that the best coffee beans are exported from Colombia and good quality coffee is not available there. Would it be an insult to bring gourmet coffee or would it be welcomed. I really want to make a good impression so please help me out.

Colombians can get pretty decent coffee at Oma, Juan Valdez and a number of other independent cafes that cater to middle class and above Colombians.

Caballista says on Jul 28, 2005, 11:26: What do yo know about them? It's better to ask them, or try to buy something not for the price, but for the value. How well do you know them? because something that can be "exotic" to some people, can be disgusting to others.
