Gift certificates to Colombia

Since there is a recent post called Flowers to Colombia I figured it would be ok to start a post called Gift Certificates to Colombia... not only that, this is an immensely useful service to PBHers. Read on please, this is a request for feedback.

We all keep sending flowers, cakes and teddy bears to our loved ones in Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Barranquilla, etc. At first, it'll probably put a nice smile on their faces, sure, but how about some variety? How about a gift that they can choose and does not die in a matter of days?

http://www.elregaloperfecto.com offers gift certificates to some of Colombia's best known stores. Selection right now is limited but we're constantly adding new ones. So, as an example, if your girl is in Bogota you can send her a gift certificate to FDS Fuera de Serie, and she can get herself an awesome outfit. Instead of wiring cash to your mother, you can send a Carulla gift certificate.

As a last-minute service to PBH readers for today, Dia del Amor y la Amistad, (and tomorrow) we are offering to waive all fees (delivery, service) on orders to Bogotá adresses. You'll only be paying for the item itself. The one condition is that the buyer gives us feedback via the site's Contact Us page. We are looking for comments regarding the site's speed, ease of use, completeness of information etc.

Rest assured that we respect customer's privacy and the site is secure, so your payment info is safe.

Oh, and we do also offer those 'other' gifts by the way (flowers, cakes, baskets) and the offer also applies to those (Bogota addresses only); we guarantee delivery today, Saturday the 15th, on orders placed before 6 pm US eastern time. Orders placed later will be delivered tomorrow (16th), if not today.

Just got an email with a question, I'll answer it here: the site's payment system is US-based (through BofA). Therefore, if your credit card is form a US bank, there are no exchange rates to think about. In other words, if your shopping cart's total was $24.99 that's the exact same amount that will show up in your credit card bill.

we currently offer carrefour, carulla, jeans&jackets, pepe ganga, totto, fds, tejidos zephir, juvenia and will offer many others in the near future... you wouldn't want to send your mother an exito gift certificate for mother's day, would you? ;)

we've received some really good suggestions for improvements to the site from pbh readers... thanks to all who took the time to write us (and make a purchase!)

everyone at www.elregaloperfecto.com is working hard to deliver those Amor y Amistad orders on time today. Orders received from this point on will likely be delivered tomorrow. thanks again!

we will soon have a toll-free order line too

Only groceries? I bought a TV at exito, it looked like a regular department store to me. (didn't try eating the tv though)

sure, exito is a superstore and they do have pretty much everything, but still... what is a better gift a for, say, your girlfriend.... a wal-mart gift card or a banana republic gift card?

cheers

Hi All - Thanks for the great link. I ordered Roses last year to this girl I met in ny through 1-800 flowers.com and they sent it from bogota to medellin. She lives in the El Poblado area of medellin. The problem is they sent flowers and not roses.

Can any confirm sending roses using the above link mentioned. It looks like a nice site but I don't understand how to read spanish.I can manage but want to make sure! Also, is anyone familar with the Colmena El Tesora Mail in Medellin. She shops there alot and was wondering if I can contact any stores.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

mike... we do have a local florist in Medellin that can deliver the flowers. Give us a chance, you won't be disappointed.

By the way, we'll be adding more products to the flowers section of the site real soon.

Thanks so much - Her birthday is in November and I might use that site. Now I actually need someone that speaks or reads spanish to help me order it on the site...hahahaha.

Also can you comment on how much the delivery/service charge will be if I buy a dozen red roses?

Greatly appreciate the help!

Delivery in Medellin will be a reasonable 3.99 or something very close to that. Likely no service charge.
