PBH / colombia (travelguide, pictures) / post |
Since i can't keep up with GRINGOinbogotá's great contributions to PBH, i thought it best to make a special tribute list.
Just don't have as much free time as him.
THANKS AGAIN GRINGO, FOR ENLIGHTENING US ALL.
THE TOURISM INDUSTRY NEEDS MORE GRINGOS LIKE YOU!
most recently form "gringoinbogota"
(but remember he's practically colombian, because he's lived here for 3 whole years!!!)
"You can be drugged so easily in this country that you wouldn't beleive it. Like if the taxi driver was my brother then OK."
"Why the F&ckin H#ll are you asking such a question on this site. What you have no one around you in Colombia to ask? "
"People are still being kidnapped in Colombia you know."
"If it is a FARC road block kiss your ass goodbye, however it is very unlikely. The mafia will suck you dry and then maybe let you go, if you are lucky."
"Sorry to put it so blunt but I have to counter the ignorant that post on here."
"Last month a professor at a University here was killed out front of the school by sicarios for not paying extortion payments."
"Now that the AUC is gone... This is purely me speculating."
"MY ongoing fear and question is that since the AUC boys are out of work what are they going to do now?"
"If these murders in Bogota are less frequent in areas like San Francisco, Ciudad Bolivar and other AUC controlled barrios since their disbanding then be afraid my friends be very afraid. Cause they are happening in other parts of the city."
"Sh#t is going to happen. Did Iran just say they are enriching uranium??? Man that put the dollar out of bed."
"as for me more people are getting killed here for not having money than I can remember. I am thinking of carring more with me just not to piss off the sicarios to a point they shoot me..."
"You never know when sicarios will ride up on a motor and demand your money. It is logical that they would be more profitable in zona rosa type areas."
"to respond to your ignorant post is probably beneath me but anyway."
"Hell look but don't speak about it. Stand around and watch the clean up of a bloody mess but don't speak about it. This is the rule of the day here. Too bad some of you got your head so far up in the clouds you will never see or experience that side of Colombia or why so many have left this country. Oh yea they all left for money! Bullshit!"
"I see no outrage in these killings! I see a whole lot on here ignorant ass people who defend their own ignorance in pretending it doesn't happen and attacking those who know it does."
"Gringo's what a joke you have no freakin idea what is going on around you in Colombia."
"Most of them were surprised I was even asking as I sounded ignorant."
SORRY NO MORE FOR NOW; FEEL FREE TO ADD ON, I HAVE TO GET BACK TO "WORK"...

Miguel_Clavo says on Apr 13, 2006, 10:47: GIB provides a varied perspective from the point of view from.. a non-native Colombian, which has just an equal value as the perspective of a native Colombian....Its up to each one of us to read, evaluate, and utilize or not utilize the information provided....we are all adults here for the most part, with the exception of those whose world only extends as far as their pecker does, (sorry ladies, you are not included in this! =) ) and responsible for our own actions based on the information we value.....if it has no value, dont use it...it it does have value, use it .....that simple....but once again, we cannot and rightfully should not trust and blindly accept anything from the internet...(see photoin subsequent post) "I would rather die living life, than to live a dying life."........ Oh, and my PM is always ON. Great Bumper Sticker: "Home of the Free, Because of the Brave" 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Gator says on Apr 20, 2006, 12:45: Well.. a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Some of his advice was good but I live in Bogotá too and in Colombia for a lot of years. It is not as bad as he went on, abet somewhat hysterically at times. There are other who post who will be able to offer good advice.
