Getting married in America, questions...

Hi everybody, we plan to get married in America next March and im not quiet sure about the documents i need. Does anybody have an idea of what is needed? Im colombian, my fiance is American we live in England, i have residence in here, but we are getting married there( USA). thanks for all the information you can add.

It will likely take at least 6 months to process before you are granted the visa. I don't know if you would be able to process this through an embassy or consulate in England or if you have to do this through the embassy in Bogota.

If you already have a tourist visa for the US, you can get married there and then apply for a CR1 or K3 spouse visa. I am not sure, but you may have to leave the US in order to process these.

Again, this information applies if you want to become a US resident. If you have your US tourist visa, you could probably get married there and just return to England. In that case, I would simply contact the county clerk office in the city where you want to get married and ask them about the requirements for a marriage license.
