Getting English Teaching positions in Colombia?

Greetings all,

This is my first post on this board despite the fact that I have been browsing here for some time now.

I was wondering about all of the people here that teach english in Colombia - how did you get the job?

I would like to go to Colombia, but I want to secure a job before I go there. I tried emailing several listed schools in Cali and none of them returned my emails. I am finishing up my bachelor's degree now and I want to move to Colombia afterwards. I am fluent in Spanish, and Portuguese.

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of schools that I could contact?

This is a very good institute that teaches english, it´s in Medellin. The lower half of the webpage has the instructions for non-colombian english teachers.

La Nueva Granada is located in Bogota. It is an american school and I spoke with the director a few times. He is usually pretty good about responding. I also want to teach in Colombia, but I still have a few years left of college. You can look up the school on www.cng.edu . do you have a teaching permit? Also if you are going to teach in an acredited American school , they usually require at least two years of experience. Good luck,
