It is so esasy The new law is to easy things to all those (so many) couples who want to married in a very speccial & romantic place and also those ones who had been having trouble with the papers becouse sometimes get married in Colombia main land can have so many hassle, please this os not for bigamist. ( as the JP said) it is under your own problem and your own risk , if you don't want to be honest with the goverment and the most important thing with partner,it is your problem, another thing, married in this island is absolutly so romantic.
From Colombia Barranquilla or Cartagena to San Andres Island is about an Hour and from Bogotá one hour 45 minutes, the cost it depends the season but both ways is from 300 to 400 usd.
All the best

Honeymoon in San Andreas A lovely island. We took a flight from Cali to San Andres (brief stop in Cartegena 20 min). It is incredible. If I may make a suggestion - The Hotel Casablanca is incredible. If you have not made reservations yet...go there. On the other hand we had a terrible time at Hotel Sol Caribe Campo - stay away. Go to Acuario and Johnny Cay ... Have a Blast!!

San Andres ...is only "wonderful" if you're there with someone who is wonderful. If you go there by yourself, looking for fun, I thing you're likely to be disappointed. In spite of the photos, it ain't no Cancun or Cabo San Lucas.

utopiacowboy says on Jul 8, 2006, 21:36:

De acuerdo, Crazy. We had a little luna de miel there before we got married and it was quite nice. I did enjoy talking to the English speaking locals.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

Marriage in San Andres Hi everyone,

I want to get married in Colombia with my Colombian girlfriend but is it really right that you don't need any paperwork at all apart from a passport? And is a tourist visa sufficient? Of course I want to bring her to Europe, does anyone knows if it's difficult for her to get a visa for Europe?

Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get married Dear Flycrazy, let me tell you, some info for you and some others, In order to get married in Colombia, civil weddings ( in main land as Cali, Bogota, Medellin ,Bogotá or another city in Main land in Colombia you as a forenger need Many documents depending your status, and the documents need to be "apostillados" at the consulate, besides that needs to be traduce by a speccial person from the consulate...I'm married to an italian, I got married 5 years ago in Bogotá and had to pass for all that.
Right now there is only one Departament from Colombia ( San Andres Island & providence) where you can get married without all that kind of trouble, is a beautifull island in the caribbean belong to, Colombia Goverment create this law to increase the tourism, as I said before, you as forenger only need the passport & the Colombian lady " her Cedula de ciudadania" Colombian ID and her " Registro civil" with " nota para matrimonio" . Is so easy a completly legal marriage in here and everywhere in the world. and after married you with the married certificate take your selfs to the embassy of your country and get the visa, I also know it, becouse I witness many cases...Let me know if you need further info: calijan at yahoo.com

marriage in san andres Thank you lovely san andres for the information.

Is both a civil and a marriage in church required?
How much does those marriages cost. I mean paperwork, licences, etc...

If a arrive in San Andres with my fiance, what do we have to do?
Do I need a birth certificate? Do I need special visa to get married in San Andres. I have a Belgian passport. I do not need a visa to visit colombia as a tourist but I dont know if I need one if I want to get married.

After going to the notary, is there a waiting time before we can get married. I will only be in Colombia for 1 Week!!!!!

Thank you so much for your answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flycarzy, I just got married last Friday 8/11 in San Andres!! After 2 weeks of having problems with all mi paperwork, we decided to fly to the island, we bought the tickest 3 hours before the flight, got there at 5:30 pm and we made it to the notary 5 minutes before closing. They checked my passport only and my wife's ID and registro civil, we were married in 15 minutes. The next day, Saturday we picked up the marriage license and paperwork at 11 am, and that was it!!! NO Hassel!!! If you are in a rush, just go first thing in the morning 8:30am, drop off the paperwork (passport, id's etc..) and they'll perform the ceremony right before noon or at 2pm when they open again!!! I'm sure if you go early you'll have everything including the license done by end of the day!!!!! Good Luck!!!

flycrazy..call me or wirte me.. Hello, Flycrzay, I remember Mr Bviz , we knew all about this wedding beacouse was..fast fast fast.....i thnk i even spoke with the bride..ofering my help..if by any change they find the office close.
MR Flycrazy
This is San Andres you can perform a fast wedding like him in here, or come at least with two days time and seeing that we have this wonderfull seven colour sea and great beach ...have a unforgettable wedding..by the sea. You don't need that much time here, you certificate you get the same day or at least next day, defently work days.
after in here the paper work is in Bogota, in order to valid your wedding in Belgium, first in the "superintendencia de notariado y registro" and then at the "ministerio de relaciones exteriores" this two places you won't take long..you can do both places in a day. then everything will be with the Belgium goverment.
Once again , the weding in San Andres is Civil wedding .
for a catolic wedding then deffently you need lots of time and amny documents.
I think we spoke but if not contact me without any compromise

San Andres I will second that about Hotel Sol Caribe Campo is terrible. The food in the main restaraunt is not worth eating. The rooms horrid and transportation issues never end. As far as marrying in San Andres, it sis a breeze. All I needed was a passport, the notaria, Jose was great and really took care of us. Very inexpensive as well. If you want good pics be careful as our photographer was terrible but his video was nice. Make sure she has a newly issued birth certificate and her cedula(?) can't remember what you call it and all will great. The island is nice, been to better but overall a great experience. Am doing the church thing there in December with the family. Good luck.
