Germany's population=82,400,996
Austria's population=8,199,783

Germany/Austria=10.0

Venezuela's population=26,023,528
Colombia's population= 44,379,598

Venezuela/Colombia=0.586

Germany/Austria = Venezuela/Colombia? Negative. Not even in the same order of magnitude.

I think that when Colombia annexes Venezuela will be a great day!

i was thinking more along the lines of austria being annexed to germany as part of a "greater germany", and the possibility of chavez, through manipulating the colombian political system, of merging the two into a version of the old "greater colombia".

I highly doubt this!

Let´s see. The old Gran Colombia consisted of Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, and Ecuador.
Ecuador, maybe. Colombia, after a protracted blood bath. Panama, with all that US money invested there and the canal, I don´t think so.
