Futbol

I would like to have a discussion on tomorrow's game Colombia is playing tomorrow against Peru. Are there any aficionados of futbol that can give me info on Colombia's chance on winning. I kind of stop paying attention after the embarrassed loss the National team had against Bolivia. Also, can anyone tell me what time me is the game on here in Southern California. El Tiempo says it starts at 9:30pm Colombian time. Viva Colombia

The game starts at 9:40 P.M. U.S. eastern time, so it should start at 6:40 P.M. pacific time. I'm confident that with this new coach Colombia will come through! Viva Colombia!!!

Pati,

The game can only be seen on closed-circuit pay-per-view. You have to go to places such as restaurants, bars, or discotheques that are carrying the signal. Here where I live they charge 15 bucks to see the game! Qué buen negocio para ellos.

just interested!!!! did colombia really lose to bolivia????? i have spent a few months in bolivia watching there players (all are domestic based). And even the top teams (strongest, bolivia, jorge wilstermann) are pretty average.

whereas colombia has a few handy players who play in europe no?? juan pablo angel has been excellent in england this season, and cordoba for inter also. johnnier montano is very promising too i am told.

i am not surprised they are robbing you blind to watch the game on cable, this happens all the time in europe too!!! by the next world cup we could end up paying those prices to watch it!!

anyway, may be the best team win or something like that. i have peruvian friends who wouldn't forgive me for siding with colombia, so i'll be neutral!!

What About the Radio Don't some radio from Colombia broadcast the games? When Colombia played against Bolivia, it was broadcast over Caracoal radio.

Radioacktiva Pati, the game is going to be on Radioacktiva, I just checked out their website. I hope I will hear a great game and a new era for Colombia's soccer team. From what i've read, the new coach and player who play in european teams will bring in an important part in what colombia has always neglected, especially after "El Pipe" left the team.

Viva Colombia it looks like Colombia is on their way to win this game. As of right now, the score is 2-0, Colombia. the goals were scored by Franki Olvideo and Freddy Grisales. From what I've heard on Radioactiva, Colombia is playing entirely different from the previous games; their attacking more up front without depending so much from the middle. I'll keep everyone up dated.
P.S
If Colombia scores another goal, a shot of aquadiente is on me.

Out of the basement

A great game last night. I was able to watch it on closed circuit here in Atlanta with about 500 other screaming Colombianos and a good many sad Peruanos. Colombia came out strong from the opening whistle and had 4 or 5 good attempts before Peru had their first. Peru missed a couple of good scoring chances and then Colombia had a goal called back on an offsides Finally, they scored on a beautiful crossing pass. The second goal was a nice header from out of a pack of players with about 5 minutes left in the half. In the second half, the Cafeteros continued to attack instead of just going into a defensive shell and barely missed one off the crossbar. Later Peru came back and almost scored when a ball lingered on goal line for what seemed forever before being cleared at the last second by a Colombian defender. The crowd in the bar chanted CO LOM BIA over and over.

All in all a great performance. SEE YOU ALL IN QUITO ON June 1 vs. Ecuador and Barranquilla on June 4 vs Uruguay (who was shocked by Venezuela in Montevideo 0-3)
