Furnished Studio for Rent in Cali

I'm renting a recently remodeled and fully furnished small studio apartment, attached to my house yet totally independent, in a very tranquil cul-de-sac in "el Norte", the north area of Cali (centrally located between Avenida de Las Americas and the Cali River).
The area is 17 m2 (184 sq ft) and includes kitchenette with compact fridge, and storage area.
The price is us$300 per month, which includes all utilities (including hot water, Cable TV service, and broadband internet hookup) except phone line.
Optional: Phone, cell phone, cleaning service, TV set, computer, bike.

Furnished Studio - couldn't be................ My wife and I might be interested come mid July onward for awhile.

30 years ago we lived in a cul-de-sac in the exact area you are describing. Hmmm, I wonder. If I knew how to post a picture I would.

We were in Cali for a month last year and re-visited the place among many other places. Now we are returning in retirement and we need a base for few months while we get ourselves organized.

I only knew of one cul-de-sac in Cali (norte) and what you describe seems to be the same one.

Feel free to contact me at woody at carmack.ca or woody at dowco.com.

Thanks,

Woody

No problem Tracy: No problem, one month is the minimum (if you need to stay a few days longer, we can prorate). However, availability depends on your exact travel dates; what would those be? And also, do any of the optional items interest you?

I'd be happy to have you, although I'm a bit concerned about the small space for 2 people. Well, at least it could be a good launching pad ...

Could this be the same cul-de-sac? There are a very few in the north, but none other in the area between the river and Las Americas. This one is in Avenida 2A and the entrance is thru Calle 23, more or less half-way between Bomberos (firefighters) and Clinica de Los Remedios. What was your cul-de-sac like? Perhaps an address?

Happy to have us..... We are, in fact, just looking for a good launching pad.

This must be the same cul-de-sac. I checked one of our maps. Being that one of our daughter's was born in Clinica de Los Remedios I am almost certain.

I have several photos of the cul-de-sac taken about a year ago when we re-visited the area. There is a clinica directly across from the entrance to the cul-de-sac? If I understood how to post a photo here I would. Otherwise, I can send you one back channel.

Our main concerns are privacy and an internet connection.

Thanks,

woody

That's it! Woody: Indeed there's a clinic! That would be Clinica de Urologia. Wow, small world ... Now, what house could it be? I haven't found out either how to post pictures here, but please send me yours to andres at andreco.com; do point out which is the house ...

Small world indeed Andres,

I just send you a bundle of past and present photos. How funny is it that you be posting an ad for a place (small) to rent in the same cul-de-sac we used to live in, just as we getting ready to make the jump back into Colombia after 30 years?

We need to stay in touch on this for sure.

Amazing pictures Resuming our thread after the exchange of amazing pictures ... I'd be happy to have you and Susan stay in the studio in July, depending on availability at that moment. Let's keep in touch as the date approaches. Can you estimate about how long you would be in the studio? Also, I'll be placing soon some pictures of the studio in a page page whose link I'll post here.

As for the internet, I have a cablemodem connection shared thru a wired router out of which one cable goes to the studio. The bandwidth (350K) is not great compared to what you normally get up north, but still sufficient to Skype with.

By the way, what did you guys do when you lived here, 30 years ago? My guess: teaching, in the Bolivar? Or, perhaps, Peace Corps?

Hi Woody, I'd love to see some old photos of Cali. If you could post some non-personal pics. that'd be great. Thanks.
