Furnished Room in Bogota at La Casa Terraza

Got a great house in Chapinero Alto: "LaCasa Terraza" and I'm looking to rent rooms to some great people looking for longer stays of 2 months or more for all the right reasons; individuals working for NGO's, environmental causes, or along those lines, folks that enjoy community, enjoy bi-lingual and a multi cultural atmosphere, cooking, hanging out and bbq's, intelligent conversation, sport pick-up games and just going out.

At present (9 Jan) I've got 1 room that is open. If capable come by and see!
(if you come across this post at some much later date send an email anyway and we'll let you know what we have available)

Looking for folks that and work and play hard!

The House:

-6 furnished bedrooms (bed and desk) 4 baths. (beds are fantastic orthopedic mattresses)
-Huge rooftop terrace and bar-b-que/fire pit with a great city view; daytime pleasures include thinking, sunbathing, reading, (see photos via picasa link below!)
-Cable Internet & Wireless
-TV & DVD player
-Large Common Room and 8 player poker table & Set
-Of course a full kitchen
-Extremely quiet neighborhood with 24 hr security
-1 block from park with basketball/microfootball court and pickup games.

Rent:
Rent depends upon duration of stay and size of room chosen. You can expect about 500-700 mil per month or roughly $USD 250-350 per month--right in the market with local housing prices. Far cheaper than bogotacolombialodging.com or welovebogota. Discounts are available for longer stays.

The Immediate Neighborhood:
1 block away is the local corner grocery store "San Francisco," and next door are the laundromat and a seamstress shop. Also within 1 block is the local basketball/microfootball court.

Within 4 blocks away there are (these are just my favorites):
1. a PHENOMENAL Espana sandwich shop, a little hole in the wall run by a grandmotherly woman named Indira;
2. a manhattan style bar and resturaunt called BASICO;
3. a resturaunt called "Mini-Mal" with exquisite foods from many cultures such as Japanese Blowfish and Native Colombian recipies
4. a bar called "el treffen" with not only a drinks menu but also a games menu (scrabble, poker, uno, etc etc).
5. Bodytech gym--bodytech is a great gym although spendy for some. Managers gym is a cheaper alternative close by, and Wonder Gym is better still but a bit farther away
6. 2 Really nice Yoga studios
7. 2 small neighborhood markets (3-5 houses down each) and 1 large 24 hr Carulla Supermarket

The Larger Neighborhood:
The house is off calle 57 above and away from the noise of carrera 7 but within a few minutes walk to this central artery of transport.

Chapinero Alto is just south of Andino, the Embassy district, and Zona Rosa (nightlife), and just North of Candelaria and the historic district bars and hostels. Its right smack dab in the middle--a great location--and a 5 minute busride/20 minute walk to either main zone of employment (given good traffic). For longer travels in the city, from the house it is an 8 minute walk to the city's much revered Transmilenio Bus System.

Interested? Questions? Send an email and introduce yourself, why you're here in Bogota, your funky passions, if you've lived in a communal house before, or whatever information you want to include. We'll send you some info about the folks we've got here!

Definately interested in the room if its still available, will be able to come over today and see if possible could you let me know. I have a job teaching off Calle 68 for around 6 months, not sure about the distance but sure transportation would be simple. If you could drop me a line with a phone number or if it is still available it would be much appreciated,

Kind regards

Matt Lawrence
