So, last night I met up with my cousin and went to Full 80´s bar in Bogota.... OMG... We had soooo much fun.... It was like being at an 80´s club in L.A., well almost... Except that we get to buy the bottle or 3.... I lost track.... But, I did get a kick out of some of the videos... They were playing the soundtrack to AutoMan... I never watched AutoMan in the states as a kid, and everyone was shocked..... I don´t ever recall it even playing....
But, everyone was wonderful... The owner of the bar is a great guy.... We had a blast.... We danced all night, I don´t even remember getting home!....It was great just enjoying a night out.....

msaucey says on Sep 22, 2007, 11:31: No darling... I´m really annoyed with the way they do things here.... Apparently, my appointment yesterday was for the consultation and exams... They can´t do the lasik the same day, because my eyes are dialated... Which makes sense, but they should have told me all of this when I made my appointment so that my travel plans could have been adjusted accordingly... So.... I´m going to have lasik done on Tuesday for sure!!!... So, this afternoon we head out to Pereira, and I´ll have to return on Monday night... Crazy!!!!... Pero a si son las cosas... Glad I don´t have to worry about hotels or anything like that... I´d be really annoyed.... Even if you're not from the 80's, you have to admit the music was pretty cool...I'd go there if were in Bogota... Teaching preteens the things they need to know! |

capitan_centella says on Sep 22, 2007, 22:58: The full eighties bar. . .awesome. I don´t like noisy places in regular bases, but. . . i sing along with a few unknown guys "the power of love", and the central theme from "baretta" (made by the legendary Sammy Davies Jr.) and some of them even remenber the michael j. Fox movies. And we ended with my girlfriend taking about eighties stuff with a bunch of strangers. . . Man Tequila says on Sep 23, 2007, 19:00: There is a similar 80s bar in Cartagena next to Mister Babilla. Even there, they seemed to be playing a remix of ¨Ice Ice Baby¨ a lot, mixing in other classic lines from other songs (Cruising! In my 5.0! With my hair slicked back and my top down low!) pues se me antoja que sus cantares son de una tierra desconocida, y yo le dije si a usted le inspira, saber la tierra de donde soy... con mucho gusto y a mucho honor... |

Not sure how many great clubs would be open on a Tuesday though..oh and the fact that she's getting her Lasik treatment tomorrow could pose a problem but MS is full of surprises ;-) Para volar, es preciso tener resistencia. -M.Lin |

Rubito says on Sep 24, 2007, 08:46: TBH most of my friends in Bogota think Full 80s sucks too. At any rate if you went once, you want 1000 times because its the SAME people in there. You can walk like 2 blocks in three directions and hit a better place. The Brazilian place a block down from it has live Brazilian music on certain days. ---Violence is the price of freedom.--- |

Rubito says on Sep 24, 2007, 09:44: You know speaking of that, wtf is the deal with Pollo Broaster in Colombia? It's absolutely EVERYWHERE in Bogota. I thought it was just a way of describing fried chicken, but technically the Broaster thing is a trademark and broasted chicken is a cross between fried and pressure cooked?? or something like that?? What's the deal, is it really just fried chicken and the name of the trademark caught on whether the chicken is really technically broasted or not? Or are they all actually broasting itin officially sanctioned broasting equipment and I never paid attention? ---Violence is the price of freedom.--- |

msaucey says on Oct 2, 2007, 14:30: Hey... I haven't had a chance to check this post... But, I guess, my experience at Full 80's was different, because I went there to have fun with my cousin and some friends.... and GIB, you probably haven't been there in a while, but they have expanded the bar... So, it's like twice the whole in the wall then it used to be.... but, I liked it for a few reasons.... 1... I had fun with my cousin and friends, which is important... 2... I loved watching the 80's videos, I'm from Hollywood, CA, so I used to go to 80's clubs in Hollywood and Los Feliz and they never had videos, just music... and since I didn't appreciate the 80's music since I was so young, I do appreciate it now that I'm older..... And I never watched 80's videos, which is why I think this was fun and funny to watch all the girls trying to do the moves on the video... Yes, if I were to compare the actual 80's music between Bogota and L.A., L.A. will win, but the ambiance is different and the music is what we would consider the throw back music that is still 80's.... i.e. in L.A. we may listen to more Cure and Blondie, where in Bogota, they played Vanilla Ice... It's just a relevant experience and I did have a good time.... and everyone at the bar was sincerely enjoying themselves, which is the purpose of going out in the first place, no?....
