Ok, guys, here's the dilemma. I want to buy my ticket to colombia but gas prices are driving the cost of the tickets up. Do we anticipate gas prices (and ticket prices) dropping again or should I buy now and pay more than I would have last week but less than I will in the future? What are your thoughts?

CaptainHowdy says on Mar 26, 2007, 17:51: Ugh... I saw a ticket for $490 before taxes last Monday. Today it was $568. I think I should get it now before it gets worse... Teaching preteens the things they need to know! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Azul says on Mar 26, 2007, 18:04: Dude, anytime you see $490 GRAB IT! I'd still take $568 as quick as I could, that's a pretty good price. I paid $650 in January for Seattle to Baranquilla. The only real cheap tickets are the ones from MIA to BAQ, and I think they have been more lately too. las cosas caen por su propio peso 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Azul says on Mar 26, 2007, 19:01: But he's flying from DFW ...so he should fly to NY or MIA first? I don't think so. That's just one of the benefits of living in NY or MIA, cheaper tix to Colombia. las cosas caen por su propio peso 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

CaptainHowdy says on Mar 26, 2007, 19:10: Thanks... Thanks but avianca does not show any flights departing from DFW. All the flights to Colombia from DFW stop in MIA, ATL, or, my favorite, MEX. I have a fellow teacher who just got certified as a travel agent and I'll check with her tomorrow about a cheaper fare. I don't know how much cheaper it will be but anything cheaper is good for me... CaptainHowdy says on Mar 26, 2007, 19:41: Yeah, but.. when you add the $180.20 taxes, you get a total of $693.20. That's what I'm trying to AVOID paying!!! Thanks anyway, dude... Teaching preteens the things they need to know! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
