From Pasto to Mocoa

Hey everybody! (Dr. Nick style) Does anyone know about the route between Pasto to Mocoa? I'm more fimiliar with the area closer to the border, but I do know this area is a hotbed for guerrilla violence and they have a strong presence here. Is there a bus that makes this route? Would it be better to just find a taxi driver willing to make the trip? Is it safe, or are there regular security issues on the road itself? I'm heading to Orito from Mocoa (where I've been before), so I'm wondering if i should take this route or not to get to Putumayo coming from Cauca (popayan to pasto to mocoa). I'm not so worried about the violence in the jungle and mountains in this zone, but more specifically about the road. Any information at all is welcome.

Thanks everybody (also Dr. Nick style)
