Hello,
I am looking for a way to get to San Andres from Nicaragua (ie, from Bluefields, Puerto Cabezas
or even from Managua).
It seems there is no ferry that provides this connection, and there are no direct flights from
Nicaragua either. Does anyone know anything?
I can't beleave that the only way to get to San Andres is through an indirect flight (ie, via Costa Rica
or Miami) when that island is just few kilometres from the Ncaragua's coast.
Thanks
/Ch

sanandressi says on Jul 3, 2009, 09:10: cippalippa, with all due respect, there is NO direct flight from Miami to San Andres so why would and should there be one from Nicaragua? Nicaraguans don't have any money to be flying direct to San Andres and then the "bad blood" mentioned above. The Corn Islands of Nicaragua, not far from San Andres, is what the Sandinistas should develop but then there are continued rumors of OIL out there off of San Andres.

sanandressi says on Jul 3, 2009, 12:08: Yes, Transat charters from Toronto during the winter and only on certain days. The Canadians almost always stay at the 5 or 6 Decameron Hotels in package deals. Some guy from Toronto told me about 6 years ago that he paid $900 USD for two weeks in one of the all inclusive Decameron hotels and this included airfare. Probably not that low today 7 years later but back then that was a steal indeed! San Andres Island is mainly for Colombian tourists and lots of illicit drugs used to pass by there and maybe still do? I dunno and I don't want to!
