Holy Bejesus! What the hell? PBH has run amok!!! After seeing my “angelic (jeje..) name, I entered the To Miguel Clavo post by Colombiche, and it’s like walking through a mine-field blindfolded and peg-legged in there!!! What the Hell is going on here~WW3????
To start off, I want to post exactly what the OP is referring to, so that there is no misunderstanding on what my post mentioned. I will then address the reasons why I cautioned a first time poster Strobers about admitting to being a Mexican-American on a Colombian website. Stobers has nothing to do with my posting, and this post. And I apologize to him for corrupting his post. Here is what I posted:
Be careful who you tell that you are Mexican-American here....
There is a small faction of uppity and arrogant Colombianos (well, to be more accurate, one Colombiana and one Colombian-American, neither of whom live there) who feel that Mexicans are below them for some reason....but they are among the first to whine about the bad reputation and negative stereotypes that are given to Colombians by the rest of the world in general. I guess they feel that they are more Latin or Hispanic than Mexicans. Hypocrisy at its finest...careful, some shyster in Chicago may pray that you choke on a taco as well.....and threaten to sue you or try to impress you with the fact that he is a lawwwwwwwwyyyyerrrrrrr...and by insinuation rolling in money.........=P
Just my opinion...
Miguel_Clavo...faltan 26 dĂas...Colombia es pasiĂłn!

Miguel_Clavo says on Jun 6, 2006, 19:20: continued.... So that there is no confusion, I was specifically referring to some comments in a prior thread regarding a Mexican-American female who was hired by a law firm over a Colombian competitor. The comments were made by Gomezman5 and Colombiche. As you can tell, I mentioned no names in my comments in the above post, because the warning I gave to the new poster was sufficient, and the names were not relevant. "I would rather die living life, than to live a dying life."........ Oh, and my PM is always ON. Great Bumper Sticker: "Home of the Free, Because of the Brave" 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Miguel_Clavo says on Jun 6, 2006, 19:22: last part..... Now I believe that most people here know my feelings on illegal immigration. Rather than “beat a dead horse I will just make a few comments, coming from a person with Mexican blood. "I would rather die living life, than to live a dying life."........ Oh, and my PM is always ON. Great Bumper Sticker: "Home of the Free, Because of the Brave" 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Colombiche says on Jun 6, 2006, 20:21: Like I said MiguelClavo.... My comments about "setting the mexicana straight" were mere attempts at injecting some humor into the thread. It had nothing to do with the nationality, I would have said the same thing no matter where she was from, so no - this is not an anti-mexican thing. I just tend to have a dark sense of humor at times, no harm intended. No me den trago extranjero, que es caro y no sabe a bueno.... (Rafael Godoy) 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Miguel_Clavo says on Jun 6, 2006, 20:27: No hard feelings.....i have seen Rosario Tijeras, at Cable Plaza in Manizales....excellent movie, and have read the book, which i think is better.......just have not been able to find a RT DVD in the US yet....chao! "I would rather die living life, than to live a dying life."........ Oh, and my PM is always ON. Great Bumper Sticker: "Home of the Free, Because of the Brave" 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Colombiche says on Jun 6, 2006, 20:30: ... That is exactly the same place where I watched the movie, Cable Plaza en Manizales. No me den trago extranjero, que es caro y no sabe a bueno.... (Rafael Godoy) 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Miguel_Clavo says on Jun 6, 2006, 20:41: Manizales is where i will be calling "Home", whereas "Work" will be in Cartagena......"Work" is used rather loosely...... Miguel_Clavo says on Jun 6, 2006, 20:42: Colombiche...you werent the one on the cellphone were you!!! jejejeje...... "I would rather die living life, than to live a dying life."........ Oh, and my PM is always ON. Great Bumper Sticker: "Home of the Free, Because of the Brave" 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Miguel_Clavo says on Jun 6, 2006, 20:49: I would think that a child, born in one country, but left at an. early age where there is little memory about the country of birth, with little connection to the old country, maybe distant relatives, or some knowledge of a city, but several decades of time in the US, would make the person more accurately called an X-American where X=original country.....that is the concept behind assimilation in this country...but, anyone can be any sex, any race, any nationality, of from any planet they want to nowadays so it really doesnt amount to much..... "I would rather die living life, than to live a dying life."........ Oh, and my PM is always ON. Great Bumper Sticker: "Home of the Free, Because of the Brave" 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Gomezman5 says on Jun 6, 2006, 20:54: A lot of waisted words Clavo..a whole lot Colombiche about said it all. You misread the whole thread. You have not been around here much until recently. Everyone who is on this board regularly,,,,,and I do mean everyone, going back to the time of ColX, knows full well about my feelings for both Mexico and it's people. That is not even subject to debate. I can come up with plenty of threads (you can look for yourself) where I have been accused of being biased toward Mexico and against Colombia. A few times, (at least twice) I was accused of being a Mexican trying to pass myself off as a Colombian.

Miguel_Clavo says on Jun 6, 2006, 20:55: But being born and raised in Colombia is alot different from... being born there, and raise from childhood in another country......i was writing from the latter perspective....not the former... Miguel_Clavo says on Jun 6, 2006, 21:09: Hmmmm...just glanced over my post, huh? "You took one line, (the taco one) and from that alone, you thought you knew what I was all about. My suggestion to you....go do some Google work on this site and see all the positive and like praises I have given to the Mexican community. "I would rather die living life, than to live a dying life."........ Oh, and my PM is always ON. Great Bumper Sticker: "Home of the Free, Because of the Brave" 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Gomezman5 says on Jun 6, 2006, 21:11: Exactly Mario.....Exactly Now we have Clavo essentially saying that there are 2 classes of citizenship......good God. You certainly are implying it. How much crazy stuff am I going to read here in one day? Who and the hell are you Clavo to say that just because I came here as a todler, I am not as Colombian as anyone else. Does the same apply to Colombich for that matter? If you recall, she has spent most of her adult life in Canada. I think she would take great offense at her being called less Colombian than say someone like Kat1, who got married and moved to the UK as an adult.

Gomezman5 says on Jun 6, 2006, 21:17: Clavo.... it's time for you do go to Colombia......you clearly have read nothing about my prior posts in relation to Mexico. Had you of done so, you clearly would be eating your words......that is a certainty

Miguel_Clavo says on Jun 7, 2006, 09:32: I agree Johna.....for the update by G5 "I should update things though. My Mexican hiree has been warming up to me a bit. Emails, and a requests to talk to me about things. She woke up. I taught her a very good lesson. I avoided her completely. And after three days, it drove her nuts. She came around. She finally realized that not every gringo loves Latinos. She is starting to understand what Somos Latinos really means. Hence.......things are looking up. johna says on Jun 7, 2006, 10:10: Yes very professional isn't it? And this guy talks about what other people are made of? he is hilarous. By the way I question that it is a laywer posting. First he is admitting on a public forum something that could get him sued up the yin yang, second the "laywer's" debating skills are questionable.

Miguel_Clavo says on Jun 9, 2006, 23:07: Platano...July 1, 2006 (21 days..)..is the date our new ... retirement contract kicks in with additional pension amounts...i am actually able to retire, without the additional payouts, on June 20, but it is better to wait until the new contract is in effect....then, i have to wait an additional payperiod to go..but my last day physically is July 1, and on paper July 15...its almost hilarious all the hoops they make you go through, i am glad i have to do it only once! jejeje....but sometimes i forget to manually change the date below.. I even have to do an "exit interview" so i thought, "Cool, i can blast some of the idiots in charge here" but then they said no personell bashing....takes all the fun out of it!!!
