I have spoken to my girlfriend last night. she lives in Cali and we talked about going to the beach. She told me that there is a nice beach in Categna.
She told me that there is 2 hours flights from Cali to Cartegna and costs 1,000,000 peso per person return (which is about £238 or $475)
Approx: £1 (UK) = 4,200 peso OR $1 =2,000 peso GIVE OR TAKE
It seems awful lots of money when London - Cali is £500 (return) - TWICE the amount from Cali - Categna (return).
Is it reasonable price ?
Is there any cheaper alternative? (eg bus or train). If so, how much and how long and is it safe?
(I do not think there are any trains in Colombia) ??

Morrongo says on Nov 16, 2007, 17:46: Sometimes too much air conditioning...too cold....depends what company you go with for the Lux. The seats are reasonable. Not like Peru ,Argentina or Chile ..where they are almost beds...I done the trip several times..also you can take a collectivo from Cali to Medellin (a car shared with others) thats about seven hours...with stops on the way! then bus from Medellin to Cart..

expatriate says on Nov 17, 2007, 08:08: Another alternative is to book a five night package deal to the island of San Andres. The web site below does not list Cali as a takeoff point, but you can find similar priced trips to San Andres leaving from Cali at any travel agency in Cali. It appears to be much cheaper than a flight to Cartagena.
