From Barranquilla to Volcan de Lodo El Totumo

hi,
do someone know how to reach Volcan El Totumo from Barranquilla? I noticed that there is bus and some tours from Cartagena, but, unfortunately, no idea how to find it from Barranquilla's side.
Another geographical topic - looking in map it seems that Salento is located in the same distance from Armenia and Pereira. Lonelyplanet gives directions only from Armenia. Is it possible to go to Salento directly from Pereira?
Thanking for assistance in advance,
arturs

it's easy to get to the volcan.
it's on the new road to ctg. from baq. about 1 hour.
it will be on your left.
maybe some bigger hotels can hook you up cheap.
or take a taxi, and enjoy the ride.

thanks, oldgringo,
is it true that new road is not allowed for buses?
we are 5, so I can immagine that one taxi is not enough.
Or am I wrong and Colomian taxidrivers are not so strict?

correcto.. this is not the road for buses and trucks,
thats why its actually a pleasant drive.
with 5 people paying, you should hire a van.
