i have lost $$ and friends in the "friendly loan" thing.....never again do i mix $$ and friendship.....seems a lose-lose situation for all involved.....friends are friends, business relationships are business relationships...i dont like drama....have had too much, but now that i am a retired MFer, no need for drama and Political Correctness anymore, thank God!! jajajaj

This blog is a great site to create new friendships and for networking. We all have one thing in common: passion for Colombia. I know for myself, eventually, when I travel to Europe for example, I would like to meet up with some folks from there. (You know who you are. Consider this as my invitation to all to stay at my humble abode when you visit Vancouver...well...some of you perhaps :-p ) I'm looking forward to hooking up with some of you in CO next year. Oops...maybe I should clarify what I mean my hooking up!

I would not call it "Passion for Colombia", based on the comments of many posters here......

Kat...you dont pass out PBH Gringo $$????

Robert Jorge says on Jun 28, 2007, 23:58:

"get elmo off?" Goin-south, is that another off-color innuendo?

I am finding myself agreeing with you a lot tonight M.C. I will "loan" money to friends occasionally however. When I do it, I NEVER expect it to be paid back. No matter what they promise, I will never ask for them to pay it back. I just think about that and keep it in my brain that it is a gift, rather than a loan. That solves the collections and bad blood issues. I am also very selective of when and whom I "loan", ie: give money to.

Miguel_Clavo says on Jun 29, 2007, 00:18:

hey, great minds think alike...jajajaj....at least we will always agree on Sigs.....jajajaj....on the rare occasion that i do lend $$ out, i dont expect to see it again....and leave it at that.....great if they repay, but not expected.......and i dont want to waste time and effort in chasing them down for repayment, either.....i would rather just write them and the money off.......i think GS was thinking more along the lines that each of us has our own definition of passion in Passion for Colombia.....=)

kat, perhaps you can coordinate your trip along with GIB so you can take the brunt of things? With him, it'll be all inclusive for you I'm sure! lol...I think I can fit a double air mattress in my bathtub... ;-o...

True, everyone's passion for Colombia is different...in good and bad ways. I'm passionate more about the people and how I relate to them. I'm passionate about making sure the clothes are hung well outside atop the terraza so no ironing is involved! I'm not so passionate about the burro that's strapped down outside my window though. Oh but he didnt' wake me up every morning...it was the dogs! The cows only mooed when I tried to get photos close up. Oh and I was passionate about making sure the sidewalk just outside the front door was swept very well. What's everyone else's passion then?

that would be great analyze1, we can leave GIB with the control remote all to himself with the condition that when we come back in the night from party all day he has to have dinner ready for both of us :P
