Only a gringo would pay a rent of 3.500.000 a month in cali for a place he could own in less than two years for the same money, 23 months and it is yours. How is that rent justified when the value of the place is only 80.000.000?

Cayita It is 700.000 for the place and the rest for "vacuna".

So... If we are not wrong we are down to (300 + 400 + 1200) 1.900.000 per month! And it is just on the Internet, not even talking... WOW!
Arthur, do you experience frequent nightmares at night or you just smoke too much? ;-)

Wait Arthur, so for 80millions he's selling only the business, not the bar itself, right? So we can understand...
Now it is more reasonable. The 3.5 rent is for the place, utilities and the business...
So: he's asking 80 million pesos to sell the buisness. To rent the business would be 1.1 million pesos per month.

arthur brode I told my wife to go and take a look at the bar tonight. I already know she would never hang out any where on avenida sexta but if she managed the bar what do you think she would take home in a month.

She already spends at least 3.1 million a month and the only thing she has to do is sit around watch novelas and scratch her pussy all day.

So if I give the 3.1 to you instead and she has to do a little work what do you think the net profit would be in a month?

My post from a month ago about this place Pesebrera
Is Pesebrera the bar on the corner of Sexta and cll 15 with the cowgirl uniforms?

We had a rip off experience there on the weekend. We were drinking Club Colombia beer from the bottle. The first round of beers were fine. When we ordered the second, two of the bottles had beer that was obviously watered down. You could see it clearly from the colour, and we could taste the watery taste. I am guessing it was half beer and half water.

When we brought it to the waitress' attention, she muttered some lame excuse about "oh yeah, if the beer freezes sometimes it gets like that", and then replaced the two watered down bottles with the real thing.

Arthur, if you happen to know the manager, it might be useful if you brought that to his attention.

calipro, Can you tell us why not? "I already know she would never hang out any where on avenida sexta"

I remember my visit about 15 years ago. The street seemed to be the hot area for those active, young and beautiful adults.

My wife thinks the people that hang out in the clubs and on Avenida Sexta are low class.

Nobody with more than a few pesos in their pockets hangs out there anymore. I haven't gone to Ave. Sexta in years....well since two gringos that I know of got in a cab off of Sexta and got the ATM tour of the city.

You know where a friend of the cab driver show up with a gun and they take you to all the ATM's untill your money runs out. The tour only lasts one to two hours if you are lucky but they tell me it's very exciting.

Actually I think the main reason I never go there is because there is no reason to go. There are just so many much nicer places to hang out now.

I recommend this website if you don't know where to go:

http://www.entretenete.com/fotos.php?busqueda=cali

OR

http://cali.us1.2night.com/home.asp

Click on the pictures to see more photos of a particular place. The photos won't give you a good idea of what the atmosphere is like ,but they will give you a good idea of the type of cliental that frequents the establishment.

3 to 6 millones Is that sales or net profit?

0 funny, 0 helpful.

calipro says on Jun 16, 2007, 11:03:

spigrimace I sure hope it's net profit.

Nobody would pay 3.1 million just to break even, plus work for a month.

spigrimace says on Jun 16, 2007, 11:13:

I ask because A lot of bars here in Medellin with around 10 tables only do like 6 or 7 millones a month in sales and they ask now about 30 millones for them.

calipro, was the area that bad... ...when I was there? Perhaps I was just too naive and new to Colombia to recognize the situation.

calipro says on Jun 17, 2007, 10:31:

Ten years ago it wasn't that bad... They have tried to clean it up but their are still quite a few street walkers on Avenida Sexta.
