This sounds like just what I'm looking for, but won't be leaving Ecuador until about the first of April.

High speed internet? Safe at night? Stores (grocery) nearby? What's a cab cost back from the city center/party zone at night?

And what do you need to hold it?

Should I ask more questions??????????

Sure, it's a slow poison, but who's in a hurry?

Be careful around there.. My girl got robbed at gunpoint for her CELULAR behind HOTEL INTERCONTINENTAL walking to our apartment on Carrera 4. I believe thats the borderline of San Antonio and El Penon.. That street is shady guys, the one that s perpendicular to la QUINTA. Be diligent but enjoy Cali.

Lived in Cali for twenty something years in El Peñon and nothing has happened to me... not mugged, not robbed. That's my personal experience. Since it is upscale and with lots of hotels, restaurants and entertainment, the area tends to be safe and you can always see police squads circling around. As always, and anywhere in the world, be safe, not dumb.

Arthur, I might be interested in renting the place for 3 to 5 days in maybe a week or two. Will it be available? I have never been to Cali and I would like to explore the city for a few days and more importantly, work on my tan if that's possible.

"chrispej, give me a call when you are in town and if the apartment is available you are welcome to it."

Sorry Arthur, I don't play this game but I understand your concerns. I will probably find some other arrangements but I will also take the time to meet you. Should I decide to visit Cali again, I think it will be beneficial to both of us.

Good luck...............

Im pretty sure thats on the AUTOPISTA... its looks very DUMPY and correct its not in the nicest of areas... next to couple crappy clubs as well. You should try something in the north or more south. Again, what is your general purpose to coming to CALI may we ask... because you are gonna get many "why take sand to the beach" and as far as meeting Colombianos on this site... even though there are plenty on here I would say that the majority are Gringos.

Arisiti is in Centro Cra 9 con 6..its a wonderful old hotel build in the 60's for the tourist trade that never happened. If has some great decor, which they have been slowly putting back to it's former glory
The neighbourhood is not safe at night, but to and fro by taxi is no problem.

Rates from 450,000 long term includes Swimming pool, sauna,(per month) make this spot popular,

Has great views of Cali from the roof top, where there is a restaurant and pool.
