Yesterday I flew back from Santa Marta with Avianca. While reading the in flight magazine the president of Avainca proudly displayed his email address next to a picture of him. I am thinking of telling him to come to poorbuthappy.com to read all the things people have siad or maybe someone could email the whole lot of comments to him as I am not sure of how to do that. Lets all bombard him with emails. Here it is
presidencia at avianca.com his name is Juan Emilio Posada Echeverri

Lionheart says on Feb 15, 2005, 14:45: Please clarify, Kerry "I flew to Santa Marta with Avianca. I flew from London to Bogota by Iberia. All the comments I made were actually about Iberias, so Iberias Is not much better."

juanalejo says on Feb 15, 2005, 15:35: Which one Which president, the one that is leaving or the one that is assuming the post. Juan Emilio Posada has now left Avianca, as with the new owner Mr Efromovich, a new manager named Fabio Villegas has taken Mr Posada´s post. Lts hope the new management does all that they are promising. I know they are changing a big chunk of the high ranking executives, I hope it does them some good.

kerry says on Feb 16, 2005, 09:01: To lionheart Basically i think all airlines have the same principle. They are running cattle trucks and trying to make as much money as they can while trying to make out they are in to customer service. Any ariline you named would bring a lot of complaints.

greenday says on Feb 16, 2005, 10:45: I like Avianca I've had nothing but good experiences flying Avianca. I've flown them 10-12 times in the last 4 years. Sometimes international, sometimes domestic. The flight attendents were always very kind and friendly, all flights were on time (or early). I love the domestic terminal they have in Bogota. They have a separate terminal that is strictly Avianca. I flew from Bogota to Cartagena a few weeks back, and it was a breeze. No lines, security was no problem...and returning at baggage claim was a breeze also. Had to wait about 10 minutes for mine & my girlfriend's bags. Try that in the US...most baggage waits in large US airports are 30-40 minutes (I've waited an hour before).

Tiger1ne says on Feb 16, 2005, 15:17: Baggage wait?? I flew to Cali in December and waited for my bags for less then 15 minutes. Flew back to Miami and waited exactly 1 hour 13 minutes before the first bag came through. There were a lot of very upset people waiting. Avianca has treated me very well and helped more the American in Houston has.

observador says on Mar 12, 2005, 09:47: Let's change the name to "All of those who like Avianca" I agree that there is no reason to call this forum "for all of those who hate avianca," since the vast majority of messages are quite friendly to Avianca. I believe that Avianca makes Colombians proud.

802MARK says on Mar 16, 2005, 21:11: LEFT ME THE ONLY TIME I FLEW WITH THEM THEY TOOK OFF AN HOUR BEFORE THEY WERE POSTED TO. I CHECKED IN AND EVERYTHING, FOUND I HAD 2 HOURS TO KILL AND WENT TO THE BAR. YES I HAD A FEW AND YES IT WAS IN MIAMI, I KILLED AN HOUR AND WALKED BACK TO WAIT ANOTHER HOUR BEFORE LEAVING ONLY TO FIND THAT EVERYONE HAD GONE, THE MAN SAID WELL WE CALLED YOUR NAME ON THE INTERCOM. NEVER HEARD OF A AIRLINE LEAVING A HOUR AHEAD OF TIME. OF COURSE I DON'T FLY THAT MUCH AND MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE BEEN SITTING THERE WAITING FOR THE WHOLE TWO HOURS. IT ONLY COST ME 50 BUCKS FOR A NEW TICKET AND 140 FOR A ROOM AND 30 FOR MY TAXI DRIVER THAT WAS WAITING IN CALI TO PICK ME UP THAT NIGHT AND A FREAKED OUT SOON TO BE WIFE WAITING ON ME.. O WELL LIFE AND LEARN. IT WAS CHEAPER THEN MOST TO GET ME THERE, BUT A BUDDY OF MINE SAID THAT THE UPKEEP WITH THESE SMALLER AIRLINES ARE NOT DONE WHEN THEY SHOULD TO SAVE MONEY AND DOWNTIME, OF COURSE WE SEE THIS WITH THE LARGE ONES AS WELL..

This is gonna be the first time i go back to colombia in 10 years, i was so exited, until 3 days before my departure i call avianca (cause they didnt even call me) and they have changed the flight coming back. now i have to go from pereira to bogota and wait 3 hours in bogota. that is stupid. i HATE avianca i wish another airline could travel to colombia. its a monopoly and avianca sure takes advantage of it.
