Is this the same as Devil's Weed (Datura)?
Datura was recently the subject of another discussion. If it is, I had the most absolutely mind-blowing experience with this drug. I was given it unwittingly (they disguised it as a tea), luckily though I was not taken advantage of. Crazy hallucinations and ridiculousness. My vision was messed for days afterwards, and actually my first time in Colombia was 2 days after I was given this stuff, my eyes were still fucked.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Atrevido says on Jul 31, 2007, 19:41: I believe Datura is what scopolamine is made from. Interesting (and hope you get better soon) what you said about your eyes. When I got my Coomava medical insurence in Colombia I was surprised to see down at the end of the list of coverages that eye injury resulting from scopolamine attack was covered. Apparently it can do permanent damage. The plant, a small tree is pretty attractive when in flower. The hanging blossoms are huge (white at higher altitudes, pink down in the valley) and give off an intense kind of perfumed soap smell beginning around four thirty in the afternoon and lasting during the night. I´ve gone out with a flashlight to try to see what polinates it (I envision some monster moth) but no luck. The flower has no scent at all in the daytime.

I was unaware that it was hallucinogenic, i just assumed that it was some sort of Ecuadorian herbal tea (indeed that is what i was told).

Man Tequila says on Aug 1, 2007, 07:09: A friend of mine tried "the tea" in Ecuador and says she enjoyed her trip, but I suspect she did it with eyes wide open.
