flight schools in Colombia

Can anybody recommend a flight school in Colombia, preferably Bogota area? Any pilots on this board?

I can't recomment it, exactly, but I know there is one in Guaymaral, on the way to Chia. It is next to an aerial army "antinarcotraficante" base. Next time I'm up that way I'll note down the name.

Send me an email at c2luke at yahoo.com. I have some Colombian friends that fly and they can probably direct you.

really just interested in a UL license. I hear you can get one for about COP 5 mio. but I don´t know it that´s true or where to go.

What I have, I do not want to lose, but Where I am I do not want to stay, but those I love, I do not want to leave, but those I know I no longer want to see, but Where I die, I do not want to go;I want to stay where I have never been

There are a couple of flightschools that operate out of Guaymaral airport on the autopista Norte before you get to Chia. Aeroandes and Aerocentro, one operates Cessnas and the othe Pipers.
One question you need to ask yourself is why you want to take flight lessons here as it is more expensive than in the States and private flying is very restricted (for obvious reasons).
Still, if you want to proceed a good way would be to call them and then visit them.

I'm pretty sure there is a school in Villavicencio. Kat1 might confirm if this is true.

True - just north of Fort Myers you can train to fly while on an expired visa even. A few of the 9-11 boys went there. What was the town? Englewood?

Yep go to Florida, it’s cheaper and they give you a discount if you're not interested in landing and take-off training.

Just pay cash, no questions asked!

Bravo, Presidente Uribe for the perfect operation!

ha ha, think i would pay the extra for taking off and landing! I am scared of flying but always thought it would be a good idea to learn to fly. My problem is that because i can´t get my head around the idea of something that weighs about 200 tonnes(don´t quote me on that) can fly around, it just feels so unnatural that it makes me panic with fear trying to understand the logic to it all. I´ve read a lot of facts relating to crazy equations like, your are 7 million times as likely to die on the way to the airport etc..It doesn´t take the panic away, strong sleeping pills do help!
