I am from St. Petersburg area and now residing in Rodadero for the past 2 years. I am a double leg amputee and enjoy fishing. Many days spent fishing the Gulf of Mexico while living in Florida. I have recently begun the process of buying a small 22 foot Panga boat in Barranquilla and after 4 months of paperwork and finding the right gear for it. I am about ready to start fishing here. I would appreciate any knowledge or comments on the fishing quality or techniques used in these waters. I have looked to the fishing sites of the Carribbean on the net but have come up empty about the waters here. My limited language skills have prevented me in interviewing the local marina's. The Carribbean is large and I need some help with location, seasonal migrations, water tempatures, fishing techniques (lures, live bait, trolling speeds and different fishing styles. Any help is appreciated.

elmodefoque says on Jul 12, 2005, 11:55: John, I fished a little bit off the rocks in El Rodadero, the far right side looking out to the water, but caught nothing. I was using lures but stopped after people began asking me what the f—k I was doing, a lotta those modefoques never seen a fishing rod before never mind lures. They thought I was crazy to think I was gonna catch anything with plastic fish, got tired and pissed off trying to explain. I fished St. Petersburg waters many times, especially De Soto state park and off the fishing pier next to Skyway Bridge. Sorry I’m not much help in Colombian waters but when I go back I would not mind heading back to el rodadero to see what kind of action is out in the ocean. I guess live sardine or ballyhoo with a hook always works, no matter where. over 5 million colombianos in USA and only 27 barranquilleros, i'm one.Curramba, el mejor vividero del mundo! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
