first trip to comobia

I will be heading down in the end of may hopefully to meet someone in manizales. I cant seem to find an airline flying there. What would be the next best mode of transportation to Manizales from Bogota? And does anyone know if there are a few good hotels or motels there that dont cost an arm and a leg? The only ones I found on net are pricey.

Sorry, I can't really give you too much advice about the trip. However, I can tell you that you want to avoid talking about "motels" in Colombia. The thing is that here, a "motel" is a place where people go to have sex.

You can take a flight from Bogotá to Pereira and a bus form Pereira to Manizales...or take a bus that goes Bobotá-Manizales

Avianca fly from Bogota to Manizales on planes that hold about 40 pax and Aviacion de Antioquia fly from Medellin to Manizales on planes that hold about 15 pax.

The Avianca flight flys out of the Puente Aereo Terminal which is just down the Avenida ElDorado, about 2 minutes away from the main ElDorado terminal. There is a bus connecting the two terminals.

As the previous poster said please do not ask any Colombians on which motel to stay at. Motels in Colombia are situated on the roadside on all the main exits of any city/town. They are used by couples by the hour.

Look for hotels using www.cotelco.org or www.paginasamarillas.com.co

great hostal!!!! There`s a great hostal in Manizales. It`s owned by two paisas, Cristina and Cristina and it`s just next to the "zona rosa" in Manizales. It`s called "Mountain House" and the adress is:
Calle 65 No.24-97 Avenida Lindzay, Barrio Guayacanes
tel: 57-6-8874736 or cel: 57-300-7898840

It`s just next to the stadium. The hostal is great so are the owners and it`s really cheap. However, it is a hostal so you`ll have backpackers there, I don`t know if you mind that. But you can get your private room. They also have a bar, a kitchen, laundary service, internet service, a tv room etc. One of the best hostals in Colombia if you ask me.

great hostal Cessi sounds like you have been in Manizales--any other information you can pass on? Will be possibly going there in July. Is the hostal safe? Do they have email or website?

Thanks
