I have just finalized my trip to Cali, Colombia. This is be my first trip out of the US. I am little nervous about traveling but will be going with a friend. Can anyone tell me about some places to visit/ places to go out at night during my trip there? I will be there from Dec 26 - Jan 15. Very excited to get there and finally visit a country other than the US. Any recommendations that anyone has and or safety measures will be helpful. Also I am wondering if it is possible to change some money into pesos before I get to Colombia; especially since the dollar is falling against the peso.

Why Not Colombia?..........Stay Tuned, for more.... utterly worthless, self-indulgent gobbets of nonsense. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

kalder says on Nov 8, 2006, 05:12: Cali Hi NJGringo5! It all depends on what kind of things you like doing: Cali is a comparatively modern and, it must be said, ugly city and is rather light on standard tourist attractions. If you’re a ‘churches and museums’ kind of guy, there’s not a lot there for you. However, I’m guessing that it’s Cali’s reputation as a party town that’s luring you down there. If so, it’s a great place to spend some time. "kalder- have you ever had a woman?"--Sam Salmon 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

kalder says on Nov 8, 2006, 09:54: Oops, pardon me!... Although I do stand by what I said. My comments were aimed at a gringo vacationeer and were therefore focused on the sort of things that gringo vacationeers tend to like, ie: bars and nightclubs. Desideria (Moderator) (Trustee board) says on Nov 8, 2006, 11:08: I don't know if you are or are not but usually people who say things like "Cali is am ugly city" don't know that city well. It isn't the Prague but then again, Medellin isn't Venice or Bogotá Paris; it's an unfair comparison. "When shall we three meet again? NJGringo5 says on Nov 8, 2006, 22:02: Cali was decided because a friend of mine is from there. He told me about the city and the country itself. I was very excited to get out of the states. He is going back to Colombia for the holidays and I will be joining him. I don't plan on spending the entire time in Cali, as i will be there for 20+ days.
