I would split the time, five days Bogotá the rest Medellin.

My vote...Medellin. Its where its all at right now. And weather and woman are better looking, although, believe or nada, I still think the women are just a slight bit friendlier in BOGO.
But the difference is as slight as Tangerines and Clementines.

Medellin = Better women, better parties.
Bogota = Capital city, a lot more people and more things to do and I'm sure you will find more english speakers there.

I would prefer Bogota :) because the spanish would be easier to understand (The spanish *accent and slang* in Medellin could be tough for a foreigner)

Medellin is obviously the best choice. Bogota is cold and the people there are mostly unfriendly as opposed to Medellin where the peopl are proud of how overwheminlgy nice that they are!

Bogotá is not cold at all. This always baffles me. It's cool but not cold.

You will understand no one in Medellín.

Bogotá is chilly at night.

Saying that one has better women than the other is stupid. If you are a good guy the women are great in both. The reason cities have great women is because cities are densly populated and city folks tend to have more money and spend it on clothing and stuff. So with 4 million women walking around you notice the hotties and miss the noties. Everyone raves about the women in NYC. What they don't realize is that 75% of them are not from NYC!

The reason why men say that the women in Medellín are better looking than the ones in Bogotá is because it's warmer there and so they use less clothing. For most men I know who live in Colombia, sexy/pretty = a woman who shows cleavege and wears low risers.

Bogotá is cooler than Medellín so most women will wear sweaters, jackets, long sleeve shirts so that doesn't equate to beauty for most men.

Bog Mde and Cali all have a variery of shapes, colors and sizes of women. Yes climates near the equator are consistent through out the year. The warmer climates of Med and Cali dictate that the women stay in shape and show the goods. However I prefer a little suspense or suprise when unwrapping the prize.

I have it on good authority that the nightlife in Bogota is better than the nightlife in Medellin.

I love Medellin and all, but the nightlife often leaves something to be desired.

And last time I went to Colombia, the women were like everyone else on the planet, as rocinante just said above me, of all shapes, colours and sizes (that goes for the men too).

If you want mega-city metropolis urban living, choose Bogota. But I'd personally pick Medellin anyday, can't even pinpoint why.

"The warmer climates of Med and Cali dictate that the women stay in shape..."? Uhmm... not necessarily. I've seen A LOT of really fat women show their goods in these two cities and it ain't pretty. =X

rocinante says on Feb 1, 2008, 15:30:

You can say that twice. There are fatties everywhere on the planet. I seriously think that these guys who rave about all the hot women in Mde, Cal and Bog may not have spent time in large cities in their home countries.

I agree with manInRed about the nightlife. Medellín is weak. There are only a handful of places open late. Most low key gin mills, my kind of places, close before 11PM.

"We have both kinds of music. Country AND Western"

The music is pretty limited in Medellín as well. Bogotá really has Medellín beat in the diversity of music category.

However, as with manInRed, I prefer Medellín.
