First meet up January 27 in Chapinero (Bogotá)

Good morning. Some of you who live in Bogotá had reserved for our first "Friends of Colombian and Colombians all over the world meet up" to be held in Bogotá.

Visit this link to see ho had reserved so far. (or to reserve)

If you are going to be in Bogota on Thursday January 27 of 2005 at 7:30 pm and want to meet with us, sign up for the group and reserve.

The place to meet will be in Chapinero. "Sopa de Letras" Carrera 13 No. 66-23. Phone 2550779. The place was selected because people from different countries, have lunch there, so the place must be safe, and is in a middle point in Bogotá to meet. Plus management was all for it.

The place is a restaurant in the morning and a bar at night. On Fridays, they held "tertulias", some amateur poets go and show their talent. We will be meeting on Thrusday 27, and will discuss possible future venues to meet.

We well arrange to have a pc and a webcam (on dial-up) , plus a digital camera, so if any other PBH members not in Bogotá and want to take a look at the meeting and maybe chat a little with some of the participants in Bogotá, I will set a msn account to be able to have instant messeging. I will update information here, advising of the best ways to get there. (Carrera 13 No. 66-23. Phone 2550779) Any suggestions are welcome.

Any suggestions can be posted on this topic or in the meet-up forum at, Meetup forum

Can I suggest a meeting spot? How about meeting in El Dorado airport. I’ll be there for 5 long hours, waiting for a connecting flight, counting the handful of planes landing and taking off.
Do you guys know of a nice funky bar to dance and get drunk near the airport?

I'll get there, when I get there!

Elmodefoque I know of a girl who used to post regulary here, who will be at the meeting for a while and then will have to go to the airport that same night. (We are talking about Thursday 27, January 2005)

The longest it would take for a cab to go from the airport to the meeting place will be 45 minutes, if trafic is good it won´t take longer than 30 minutes. So with good luck you could have your drinks with us at the meeting and maybe go back to the airport with company.

The meeting stars at 7:30 pm, I will be there a little bit earlier.

nah, Elmo you are avoiding to reveal your real face(are you a known millionaire or are you a movie star? jaja). It's not the trafic and the cab..

Adela, I posted a current pic a few weeks back, but I got too much of that middle age (silver hair) corroncho, narco look going. I don’t try to look that way, but I can’t help it. In reality I’m just a mild manner, jolly, happy go lucky guy, who’s only needs are sex and booze.

I'll get there, when I get there!

Yeah Elmo,

I am the one who needs to go to the airport to pick up a friend. So, you want me to pick you up as well? :) haha!

Christina, you could pick me up from anywhere, take me anywhere and do what ever you wanna do with me, except to stick anything up my butt, otherwise all is fair game

I'll get there, when I get there!

Pictures Finally we held the first meet up from PBH, ten people showed up, we did have an IP Camera while in the meeting. We took a few pictures, chat, and had a few drinks. We look forward for our next meeting. Right now there are 51 registered users all over the world and we got this number in a record time of 40 days.

The idea is to have simultaneus meetings in different cities in the world, and if possible to have ip cameras to be able to see each event at the same time.

Thanks to all who showed up and I look forward to meet more of the Friends of Colombia and Colombians all over the world.

pics...who's who? pedro,
nice pics and I really would've liked to be there. Next time in Cali?
I would've liked to know, however, who these people in the pics are. Can you add the names or handles?
Cheers,
Desi

What is the need for bandwidth if all of us suddenly jump on
If there's a need for bandwidth I'll (make a few calls/pm's) and arrange something that we can use in the future ;-)

For those occasions that is. First priority must be that yacht thing ;-)
