Fire North of Bogota

I am currently located in Tabio, North of Bogota. I can see and smell the massive amounts of smoke coming from the other side of the mountain still farther Northwest I think. Has anyone heard anything?

Going now Well, looks like we have another big one. It is currently Tuesday ta 3:30 pm and the thing has been spewing massive amounts of smoke for at least two hours. At one point I could actually see the flames lighting up the top of the mountain in broad daylight.

Fire update Late on Feb 6 the fire still spewed smoke and lit up the sky.

By early in the morning of Feb 7, the fire seemed to be more contained though it has moved some.

Or Perhaps that is DonGringo enjoying a morning cigar. (just a little humor, nothing personal DG)

I heard on the radio that the fires is on the Majuy montain a place where people usually go to exercise, I went once, it is on the road towards Cota, once you cross the mountain you get to Tenjo.

Another view From my balcony here in Salitre I saw a huge fire in the mountain west of the city center. I called a friend in that area and she said it was a forest fire. Huge plume of smoke made it all the way across town. Today is finally nice though...kinda hazy and windy but sunny and warm at least.

Fighting with helicopters Well, it has been six days now and the fire seems to keep moving across the mountain range.

Finally today they started using helicopters dropping large buckets of water.
