Final Response from GIB......

Hello PBH'rs I asked GL to post this for me as I stopped back and was
overwhelmed by the comments of the my friends in my defense. I wanted to
thank you all for sticking up for me and also showing your true character
and why I call you friends. It woudl ahve been easy to jump on the trash GIB
bandwagen adn you didn't you are friends of true character and I want to say
thanks.

I will not be contributing to PBH through gringoloid so don't worry GL. ;)
But there were so many comments I noticed that have never been spoken while
I was around mostly of the negative variety that it needed to be addressed.

First of all since the negative comments are coming from people who have
never met me and some who chose not to meet me I think they pretty much
speak for themselves.

But I want to explain myself and my time at PBH. I tried very hard to be
thought provoking and some may have interpreted that as arrogant. I tried to
speak the truth as I from what I was seeing here in Bogota, what I was
hearing from locals living here and was often told I was out of touch. I
guess the bottom line is I am not going to agree with the moderators who
feel they were fair with me. They were not and by their behind my back
assessment of me I think it is clear they had personal issues with me and
that came out as they allowed attacks on me to a point where I admittedly
got too sensitive to them. I am only human. The question is why they were
allowed to go on at all. If the moderators had followed their own rules I
would still be there. They are to blame and they want to consider me
dramatic or whining when I consider myself searching for justice and not
finding it. I learned that I was expected to put up with mounting personal
attacks but that moderators and the owner of the site did not need to put up
with constructive critizm which is what my last post was and it was deleted.

I know many think I will be back but I will not. That should make some of
you very happy. To you I say it is too bad that you could not take my posts
for what they were. It is too bad that my writings on subject led you to
feel justified in a personal attack. Many times all I was trying to do is
challenge your way of thinking. In this world it seems people have grown
very passionate about their opinions but have no substance or foundation
under that opinion. I challenged that and it made me unpopular. It speaks
volumes about them. Anyway if anyone would like to meet the real me my name
is John. I am not GIB as that is a character on PBH. In person I will
correct any person calling me GIB. What I wrote about real life experiences
where of John and they were true but when I challenged your opinions that
was GIB often times, some tiems you didn't know it but John agreed with you.
I know that will be poked fun of but it was just in an effort to keep things
interesting for me and for you. Thank you on the board who levied your
foundation on PBH as to why you hold a certain opinion. I learned a lot from
you and have grown because of you. To those who deleted my threads and
allowed people to attack me personally I just feel sorry for you as I am
sure you learned nothing.

God bless you all and take care of yourselves.

Please don't waist any more time with posts about me or chat about me in my
absence. Just move on with PBH as is.

Medoblado..........I'm sure you are a nice guy.......and I am by no means, writing this as any sort of slight on you.

I feel your comments above, to be a perfect example of how an anonymous internet board can sometimes bring out different mannerisms in people.

I know for sure, that if you were in company with Gringoloid, that you would not address him like this. Not because he happens to be a big fella, but rather, because he is just one of the most genuine, sincere, affable and likeable characters one could come across.

It's strange what sort of little monsters, some of us, sometimes become, when we are in front of our keyboards. The character changes.............writing on a computer is just so different to conversing, one on one. Manners oftentimes disappear. The slightest difference of opinion, can very often be difficult to relate in writing, and can instead, come across as an insult.

This origional post is about GIB.........nobody traded more real insults and barbs at each other than he and I. I have also commented on many occasions, that I'm sure, he is a fine gentleman. However, for every nice comment, there were twenty harsh comments. Only the harsh ones get noticed.

The comical thing is, hurling insults back and forth on an anonymous board is sort of meaningless. Gib was a decent, normal human being to so many people here.........to others, he could be a " nasty, overbearing, rude righteous Mr.tough guy...." ( someone else made these comments about him.....but I have to agree )

As the nice guy, he was a great asset to this board..........he could be funny, witty, intelligent. He is obviously smart, and he has a wealth of knowledge of Colombia and Bogota in particular.

This board is a great tool for all of us here. I think Gib took it a little to seriously. I too hope he returns........but not as Gib. I hope he returns as John.

I made a wisecrack to him a few weeks ago, that I had met him in a bar in Bogota. Of course, I had'nt......but if I had met him, I'm sure we would have laughed about PBH. ( after he walloped me first)

So anyway Medoblado........just some quick thoughts........take care...........and as for that Gringoloid f**ker...........stay away from me beer.

Between Armenia and Pereira, take the road from Armenia to Pereira and go about 10 miles until you get to the burnt out hull of Carlos Lehder's (former partner of Escobar in the medellin cartel, now serving time in US prison) old german style party chalet, take a right and go down to the valle de corcora, go up the hill on the other side of the valley and voila, yo are in Salento.
