the final of the first copa mustang 2005 is around the corner.
It's being played over two legs. The fisrt leg is on Wednesday 22rd of June with the return leg on Sunday the 26th.
The two teams contesting the star are el rey de copas Atletico Nacional and los Cardenales de Santa Fe.
Nacional lost both finals in 2004, beaten in the first final by local city rivals el poderoso Medellin and then losing the mother of all finals against los tiburones de Junior (the second leg in Medellin was unbelievable).
I personally think that Nacional will add to their 7 wins and make it 3rd time lucky......the team of this championship was undoubtedly Envigado.....team played outstanding all through this championship and if they would have won their last match against Once Caldas (they drew 1-1 away) they would have pipped Santa Fe to the final...que viva el futbol Colombiano!

spigrimace says on Jun 25, 2005, 09:06: I don´t get it I´m from the US so I have little or no football knowledge but I don´t understand Dimayor´s (the governing body of Futbol professional colombiano) decisions. To me it´s not logical...They lift the sanction and let Santa Fe play at their home stadium but then deny Nacional´s request to lift sanctions against some of it´s players...and most of these players got their sanctions outside of the Copa Mustang! Seems like playing favorites? Or is the logic that it was the fans faults for the Santa Fe sanction and in Nacional´s case the players need to be responsible for their actions. Help me understand!
