Fiancee had K-1 Visa approved today

My fiancee had her interview at the embassy today & was approved for a K-1 visa!! She said the interview took about 5 minutes & that they did not look at any of the documentation she brought with her to the interview. They only asked her questions. The main questions asked were:

1) How long have you had this relationship?
2) Did you separate from each other during the relationship (yes) & why?
3) When do you plan to travel to the US?
4) Have you or your fiancee ever been married or engaged before?

It's amazing how much time & money was spent in preparing for the interview & how little time was spent in the interview.

Like many have said before the main requirement in the whole process is to exercise one's patience. Now I can continue being patient as I start counting down the days until her arrival in the US.

Felicitaciones, dude! It's a great feeling isn't it?

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

About preparation WRT: "It's amazing how much time & money was spent in preparing for the interview & how little time was spent in the interview."

If you hadn't spent all that time preparing, the interview would probably have been much more iffy.

Congratulations!

To answer carlosmariotorres Hi Carlos,

The California processing center handled our paper work. The processing center received our paperwork on 10/17/05 so the total time required from time of receipt to date of receiving the visa in the Bogota embassy was 5-1/2 months.

Other questions asked in the interview were:

1) What is your fiancee's birthday? (In her answer my fiancee was off by one day & one year in her answer to the interviewer).
2) Do you plan on having kids?

Regards,

Don (in Las Vegas)
