Robert Jorge says on Mar 25, 2008, 22:33: I never saw, drank, nor heard of Pilsen beer when I was in Colombia. It must be good - lots of people talk about it. I am like others above - I will drink any beer. But I have an affection for good ole' Aguila. Costena is as good - I can't tell the difference between it and Aguila. Brava seemed pretty hard core to me. I only got myself in trouble with beer in Colombia when playing tejo. As many here probably know, it is customary to purchase a half carton (15) or a carton (30) of Aguila - or whatever brand. When playing tejo in a 90 degree club and it's environment, the beer goes down REAL FAST. I am not a rookie at drinking large quantities of beer, but while playing tejo, before I realized, I would have drank 12 or 15 beers in 2 hours. --"I believe in making the world safe for our children. But not for our children's children, because I don't think that children should be having sex." - Jack Handy 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

eywed says on Mar 26, 2008, 00:01: Pilsen has my vote. I really wish they sold it in the states. If any of you kind folks happen to be returning to the U S drop me off a six pack her in Tampa. My next trip Tp Colombia is some time off and I sure could use one now. Ay Hombe!!!!! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
|
Robert Jorge says on Mar 26, 2008, 00:30: My first recollection of you on this site Eywed, is you asking about Pilsen here in the US. I think it is now orderable at major liquor stores. I ordered (successfully) Aguila and Costena about 6 months ago. I know Miller SA was locked out of the US market for a while last year. But you should be able to get their products now. --"I believe in making the world safe for our children. eywed says on Mar 26, 2008, 00:32: I wish bro , My friend has a liquor store/bar and he is from colombia but no luck so far. I guess I have been chasing a pilsen for awhile. Keep hoping someone will have pitty on me and hook me up. Ay Hombe!!!!! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
|
Robert Jorge says on Mar 26, 2008, 00:36: Hmmm, I can get Aguila (now) all day long. I just figured Pilsen was available. You ought to have a guy here coming back from Colombia to bring you back a sixer. I'll do it on my next trip ... whenever that is? --"I believe in making the world safe for our children. But not for our children's children, because I don't think that children should be having sex." - Jack Handy 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

El Polo says on Mar 26, 2008, 11:16: Coronas is my first choice, Heinekens too much of an after taste next day in the morning, when in Colombia its Costeñitas for me, on my way to the overpriced disco I tank up on Brava (need a nice buzz going in, that way I spend conservatively, unless I meet a hot chica). Also I was told Brava no longer comes in the red can it is now a green can which is lighter in alcohol, but still does the job. I do Aguilas once in a while not too thrilled with them, mostly drink them here in the states when its start warming up. Dont forget the Ron de Medallo and Old Parr.

EVERETT says on Mar 26, 2008, 20:33: I vote for Costeñitas as my favorite but since they are not available everywhere second best is Club Colombia.I also like Ancla. For the most part Colombian beers are too light for my taste i like the earthy taste of a DosEquis amber or a Shiner Bock. I find the import beers like Heineken, Corona do not have the same flavor in Colombia as they do state side. The Stars at Night are Big and Bright 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
