FARC Leader Extradited to the US by the DEA (welcome to America)

JUL 17 --( NEW YORK) - Lev L. Dassin, the Acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and Michele M. Leonhart, the Acting Administrator of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), today announced that Gerardo Aguilar Ramirez, aka “Cesar,” a former front commander in the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC), has been extradited from Colombia to the United States to face cocaine importation conspiracy charges.

The FARC, which has been designated by the U.S. State Department as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, is Colombia’s main leftist rebel group. Aguilar Ramirez was extradited on an indictment, unsealed March 1, 2006, in the District of Columbia, in which the United States has levied charges against fifty of the top leaders of the FARC.

If someone doesn't like like the way the U.S. enforces it's laws, probably better not to break those laws.

I hope this guy is treated really nice, I hope the prison folks here give him a good warm, welcoming hug. Perhaps he could be tucked into bed each night for a while, as he will probably be a little homesick. A little hot chocalate and a few cookies before bedtime, should make him feel better.

EASY-E I understand where your coming from but unfortunately this guy will still be treated as a King if he was incarcerated in Colombia, thanks in part to the corruption and power that the FARC has within the prison system. At least in the states his life will be hell, and believe me when he gets out he is going to regret having been a member of the FARC. In the next couple of weeks he will turn into a snitch and will give the names of many other Colombians that will be arrested following a big DEA operation in Colombia, and so on and so on more extraditions and more arrests

So..??? Even if that were true, don't send drugs up to our kids, the DEA will have no interest in you.

Well.............obviously they are not all dirty.............otherwise the aforementioned Gerardo Aguilar Ramirez, aka “Cesar,” , would be enjoying an erapa and Pilsen this morning.

It is just a shame that Colombia gives their own criminals away to a terrorist country like the USA. They have to guarantee the human rights, even for Cesar. And the USA dont gives a f*** about human rights. See waterboarding on Guantanamo. See the death penalty. See Mumia Abu Jamal. A true shame for Colombia.

Ray I have got catched several times with huge amounts of drugs by the DEA (one time on a ship between St.Marteen and Curacao) I always paid them up..... some 20.000 USD and they let you go. I have some friends from Cali who got catched in California with kilos in their luggage... 50.000 USD and they let them go.... The DEA is the same corrupt like the police in Colombia. No difference at all...

After I read the first post I was going to make a comment, but, I think the second post clarifes everything.

Interesting that Colombia’s Supreme Court authorized extradition on the cocaine charges but denied an American request that Mr. Aguilar face kidnapping charges for the three contractors. Apparently, there is still some testiness in the Colombian judicial system regarding American efforts to use Colombian security forces as a less competent extension of their own.

The pride of Colombian officials is hurt if they think they are perceived as an obsequious, bootlicking lackey of the Big Dog up North.

The FBI, the CIA, the DEA, the State Department, various military "advisers," and, of course, Delta, they all treat Colombia as a personal bendover and have for decades. Meanwhile, the Colombian security forces like it and give them the reach around.

However, occasionally nationalistic sentiment rears its head and strutting, peacock-like poses of wounded pride are struck. But all that posturing doesn't change the nature of the relationship an iota.

I still say Eaze-E should be a mod here on PBH, lets see, he was an embassador, political activist, he knows alot about jails, owns real state, big time drug trafficker who brives the DEA, business man entrepeneur, bitch slapper, multi lingual, a man with all these attributes has the ability to moderate, he can probably fix the Honduran conflict in a second.

EAZY-E........... YOU ARE THE MAN!!! A TROLL? NAAA....JUST A CONCERN HUMAN BEING

EAZY-E you have no clue of what you are talking about. You have no personal experience in anything but talking crap. Your comment. “I have got cached several times with huge amounts of drugs by the DEA, is more crap. The only trouble you have ever gotten into is not being in the house by curfew and your mommy had to scold you. Grow up kid, no one in here believes you or pays any attention to you. You have been here since February and talk like you are the man. You are in a fantasy world.

It’s always interesting to hear anti-USA comments like some of the mindless crap in here, but when the Farcaristas are at your door or Chavez wants to send his only tank to fight Colombia who do you call for help. And when you make sophomoric statements that the USA government is crooked, that they kill people here and there, etc. you show that you know nothing. You have no proof of anything other than an article you read in a leftist’s magazine.

Read what the people in here write about you. They all see right through you. Commentors like; RAAAY, azunoman, makopp5, ColombianoGringo are worth reading. They know their subject and how to write intelligently. I don’t always agree with these guys, but what they do say makes sensed and is written with credibility.

On the other hand…you…are a gift from god.

...and so it goes

Rikito, you have some valid statement about tone loc. What kind of shit your smoking? RAAAY, makop5, credible, intelligent, sensible writers? Azu is more media informative and has a few pointers, CG does make sense most of the times, I ask you, what was the last book you read?
