I´m designing a new website for my friend who has opened a new hostel in the Patio Bonito area of Poblado, Medellín. It is open now but there will be a big opening night party on the 17th of March (St Patricks day for those of you that don´t know). I have to say seriously that this place is one of the best hostels i´ve seen in my 4 years of Travelling the world. It has the lot, here are a few of the things that it has:
*swimming pool,
*Irish sports bar
*Turk (Steam room)
*Basketball & Volleyball court
*TV room with a huge DVD library.
*Brand new pool table with weekly competitions
+ loads more
You get all of the above and more but the prices are the same as other Hostels in Medellín.
Check out the website http://www.pitstophostel.com/ The website isn´t finished yet, there are still quite a few details missing on the website but should be finished in within the next week or 2.

paulr says on Feb 25, 2008, 16:18: Hi Medtraveler. I would be worried if i were opening a new Hostel now, but saying that, as the country is getting safer and more people are confident in coming here, they will all need somewhere to stay. He nor i haven´t advertised yet but word of mouth got around and people have started flooding in. It that your website http://www.medellintraveler.com , if it is, would you mind if i add a link to it from the website? Life is like a ten-speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use. |

Mr. Hollywood says on Feb 25, 2008, 19:23: Just a little feedback about the website: The blinking list of services is very annoying. Why would I want to read something that's blinking at me?

chrispej says on Feb 25, 2008, 20:35: Ok, the monkey says to be nice, so I'll try. The web site is tacky. I leave it at that. Ok, my first thought is another place for gringos to hook up with prepagos. Ya know.....ah hell.......forget it.

tejasmarcos says on Feb 26, 2008, 05:49: hmmmmm. i could not get a real clear take on the place from the foticos supplied. maybe more pics with more attention paid to the size of the place, the accomodations, etc. my glass is getting shorter on whiskey, ice and water... |
nueva york bombero says on Feb 26, 2008, 05:52: You guys take credit cards? The place looks fine to me!
paulr says on Feb 26, 2008, 06:05: Ken, yes, Diana works there, great girl. Chris, you´re right, lots of prepagos will be going down there looking to pick up backpackers who are sleeping in bunkbeds and paying 20,000 a night, just there clientel. Life is like a ten-speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use. |
paulr says on Feb 26, 2008, 06:09: Lots and lots of photos to come. I don´t think he´s set up with taking credit cards yet. Life is like a ten-speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use. |

nueva york bombero says on Feb 26, 2008, 07:14: He said the site wasn't finished! I don't think he's ready for your "constructive criticism".
tejasmarcos says on Feb 26, 2008, 07:16: then why did he ask? remember, constructive criticism is a "good thing" bro...... my glass is getting shorter on whiskey, ice and water... |
paulr says on Feb 26, 2008, 07:30: I understand but this is about Medellin having a great new hostel. The website(When it is finished of course), will have lots of pictures, wont have anything flashing or annoying and will do it´s job very well as a face of a very good hostel with lots of info. Life is like a ten-speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use. |
tejasmarcos says on Feb 26, 2008, 07:36: hammer me with the truth - always, good or bad. my glass is getting shorter on whiskey, ice and water... |
bickerss says on Feb 26, 2008, 07:51: sure it will do well - was at the blacksheep the other day organising a spanish lesson and taxi after taxi of backpackers turned up that had tobe sent to other hostels as the blacksheep was full (blacksheep seems like a great hotel too from what I saw).
paulr says on Feb 26, 2008, 07:55: What i found supprising was that, other hostels(the blacksheep in this case) were quite happy sending people to my friends hostel, which i thought was very nice of them. Life is like a ten-speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use. |

bickerss says on Feb 26, 2008, 08:06: haha - the chick in this pic is just one of the Aguila models who was hanging out in a baby pool out the front of Palmaiia one night!!!!

Mr. Hollywood says on Feb 26, 2008, 08:17: Paulr, my comment was made with entirely good intentions. The list of services was blinking like some sort of weird flash graphic. I was interested in reading the services but not at the expense of staring into a strobe light. I'm sure it can be easily remedied.
podborski says on Feb 26, 2008, 08:21: it only makes sense for places to send clients they can't accomodate to other hostels, why wouldn't you? It's not like selling a car or anything that lasts, when they might come back later and buy from you.
tejasmarcos says on Feb 26, 2008, 08:23: that is the way the online porn industry operates anyways - works for them :) my glass is getting shorter on whiskey, ice and water... |
paulr says on Feb 26, 2008, 08:25: Mr Hollywood. When i get all the pictures and info through, all the pages will be changed to be completely userfriendly. I hate those flashing things too, i promise not to add anything like that to the site. Thanks for the good lucks that have been made by everyone. Life is like a ten-speed bicycle. paulr says on Feb 26, 2008, 11:23: Ha ha, thought the title might prick your ears up Brita. I should have explained, an Irish sports bar is a Sports bar with an Irish theme, not just a bar that plays Irish sports. RAAAY says on Feb 26, 2008, 13:45: Roc...........Brits refering to the Black & Tans above is nothing to do with the drink of the same name............The Black and Tans...as they were known, was a sort of military grouping sent over from England to back up the local British forces in Ireland some years ago. .........Its useless to argue with ignorance |

paulr says on Feb 26, 2008, 14:07: It sure would be fun Ray, it´s the least he could do after putting your country under 600 years of oppression. My dad used to teach me rebel songs about the black and tans when i was young and find hit hilarious to bring his mates home after the pub on a sunday and get me to sing them. chrispej says on Feb 28, 2008, 21:47: Ah hell, don't get me wrong. It just seems that all the extraneros I meet here in Colombia act like they are lost in a train station or airport looking for the bathroom when it comes to finding prepagos. And then, I go out with some of the local girls with you guys and you seem more interested in taking pictures with the girls to show the guys back home rather than having fun with them. Having fun is talking, joking, dancing AND maybe something more. But just photos? C'mon guys!
