(Actually we have moved from Chapinero.)

What a pity! I didn't suppose to write the rates, as people can think it's too commercial.
Anyway our rates are like below:

Dorm beds: COP$15,000 per person
Single room(w/o bath): COP$30,000 for 1 person (plus $5,000 w/ bath)
Twin/Double room(w/o bath): COP$40,000 for 2 persons (plus $5,000 w/ bath)

We don't have rooms with bath at the time of writing, but soon or later.

Private Spanish Class
15 hours(3 hrs a day)/1 week: COP$200,000
30 hours(3 hrs a day)/2 weeks: COP$350,000
45 hours(3 hrs a day)/3 weeks: COP$475,000
60 hours(3 hrs a day)/4 weeks: COP$575,000
(Outside students from the hostel will be charged COP$50,000 more for class.)

And Of course, vice-versa.All my true friends and family would offer to pay or take me out for dinner, or vice-versa if I am staying with them. It just happens naturally when you were raised that way, and you never have to remind anyone.

The Flatline--I stay at a large IYH Hostel(now referred to as HI) in NYC, currently for around $32 nighly. It has to be one the best deals left in the City.

I have used this Hostel 3 Times in the recent past though their rates are now up to $29 Nightly, still a Great price considering the location.When I first started using this Hostel in 1990, its prices then were $16 nightly. Its safe clean and secure! I have a Senior membership, BTW, you can buy a membership at this Hostel for under $32 and its Valid Worldwide.

what's nice about the Hostels is(at least the good ones) is they have Kitchen facilities so you can buy your food at a Market, store it in the Hostel's fridges and cook on the stoves. This is quite a savings over week or two not to mention you control the cleanliness issue not found in small Col eateries. Like no soap, hotwater or clean hand towels in the restrooms. And you know your food is stored at the proper temperature overnight.Not so in many Col Restaurants
