Exit Tax, Bogota

Hi,

I know I have to pay an exit tax, and I remember the last time I left Colombia after getting married (I was in on a temporary marriage VISA) I had to pay double because I was not a "tourist"...

Anyway, on this particular occasion, I have been in Colombia for 180 days on tourist VISAs, and another 40 days on a Spousal VISA. I am leaving from Bogota to Toronto.

Does anyone know what my exit tax will be at the airport in Bogota? I don't have US money, so I'll have to pay in Pesos, but I don't want to bring too much extra money with me (pesos are tough to use in Canada) so if anyone knows what my exit tax will be, it will help greatly,

Dave

94,400 pesos as of last week make sure to go to the special booth where they give you that discounted form. Not sure what it's really for.. but those that go to that booth pay 94,400 and those that don't.. not sure what they pay. By the way this is up from the mid 80k peso range that it cost earlier in the summer.

Just... call the local Avianca office and ask. Offices are everywhere in Colombia. Should be about $28.USD and you can pay in dollars or pesos.

Exit Tax 51 USD if you are a Colombian Resident,if have been over 60 days in the country, or if you stayed less than 60 days but entered on a non tourist visa. 31 USD if you stayed less than 60 days on a tourist visa. To be able to get the 20 USD exemption you have to queue at the tax exemtion desk whick is located in front of the Iberia check in desk.
