entry as a tourist

To enter Colombia as a tourist without visa (I am German), do I need hotel reservation or something? Also my passport is damaged by water, but it's all readable. Could this be a problem? I want to stay 6 month. Should I tell that I intent to stay that long?

Your Passport.. will serve as your tourist visa-that what the stamp is that you receive when to enter. DAS will write in the number of days you are allowed to stay, usually 30 if you stand like a dummy and 60 days if you are polite and have a reasonable reason for wanting additional time. In any event you can renew past 60 days but in no event for more than 180 days from the date of entry.

The condition of the passport is probably OK but that will be up to the DAS agent. If you get on the plane you are like good to go.

Enjoy Colombia

is a return ticket required? I will probably buy one-way ticket.

Cuidado!!!! Colombian DAS agents may or may not challenge you. A RT ticket is required. If you have a OW it may/will be assumed you are Not going to leave after your stay and you could be denied entry.

One way is Ok if you have an onward ticket If you have a one way into Colombia but another ticket out of Colombia (to another country) - you are also OK. Some people have used bus tickets as onward tickets (much cheaper to arrange and discard if not going to be used in the near future) Have fun
