HI, does anyone know anything about or completed the certificate; Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) It´s apparently certified by cambridge university but the course is offered here in medellin.
I´m thinking about completing a course like this but want to know how much weight this course carries, i mean to say; when i finish this course, could i teach in a UNI for instance?
Just need a 2nd or 3rd opinion.
Thanks

paulr says on Jun 9, 2008, 15:25: Hey TomTom, so you´re home safe and sound, all the ladies of Medellin had a day of silence the day you left. Me and Jimmy are thinking of doing it but it starts in the next few days so was in a rush to get info, Marrio hasn´t heard of it but not spoke to Gustavo yet, you are right about that. coffee beaner says on Jun 9, 2008, 20:04: I'm currently taking a "Diplomado" in Eafit called Fundamentals of English Language Teaching. In the course we are working with the TKT and it seems pretty easy. As far as I know if you don't have a BA in English or what they call a Licenciatura it will be hard to get a job at a University like Eafit or UdeA, but you could work at a learning institute like Universal Language, American Headway etc. Also if you know both Spanish and English you can even teach at a private High School like one of my classmates.

borat says on Jun 10, 2008, 15:06: I've never heard of it and the information provided on the web site says that following the course you can apply to do the Internationally recognised CELTA. what you believe is not important, it's what you do that counts 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

paulr says on Jun 11, 2008, 05:57: Thanks for taking the time out to reply, i´ll look into taking the CELTA, sounds like a better choice. Although, i don´t like the thought of having to spend much time in Bogotá. "paulr threatens me with death !" pobrecito 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
