Electricity adapters and so on

Hey, does Colombia have the outlets similar to those in America, or does one need an adapter? Or yet another option, does it vary throughout the country? This is all, thanks.

Some times you may need a converter to attach to a three prong plug so that it will fit in wall sockets with only two holes. other than that as indicated above everything else seems to be the same.
