I am sad to say that the main newspaper in Colombia, is giving the death of Raúl Reyes a lot of publicity, too many pictures, might it reflect some paramilitarims "inclination".

It is good to be informed but not bombarded. :-)

A lot of publicity and Farcs news might backfire. Not wonder the newspaper sometimes, instead of giving accurate information, help confusing the readers maybe in the direction "some" Politics actors want.

On the other hand, Claudía López a newsreporter from http://www.eltiempo.com/ has been censored by http://www.elcolombiano.com/, again on an article about Paramilitares in Antioquia.

Where is the freedom of information?, Abuse of the freedom of expression is what El Tiempo is doing.

I don´t celebrate the death of anyone, for I am no one to judge. Life goes on.

I am not as confused as those wanting war and the death of soldiers without a cause, is like bodyguards, sometimes they don´t know who are they risking their lives for.

As I stated before, If Colombia had taken "guerrilleros" prisioners alive, even if they where brought from Quito, we would not had been in this "war" with neigbhoor countries.

Another reason not to get so happy about it.

If they were brough up to justice while alive, that would be a different history.

Well Granda was brough from Venezuela.

The time wasn´t right to go and kill, but to go and bring them would had been wise.

Monpirri says on Mar 4, 2008, 14:45:

Webmanco, I really enjoyed reading this thread, yes we have to be careful with the information we digest and the source where it is coming from whether if comes from Colombia: Bogota, Barranquilla, Medellin, Amazonas or Washington, California, New York, Peru or Italy because there is big differences in perspective and consequently history will printed in black and white as per the management and the broadcasted news will have some sort of a personal or perhaps a political signature of the event. That’s why it’s more educational to watch three or four different networks.
I also agree about not celebrating the death of a human being, I think in the medieval era the barbarians used party about it.

of course I judge people, how could you not?

I suppose you walk around in a daze all day handing your money out to anyone who tells you of a great investment scheme. Or maybe you see a guy with a knife threatening a woman and you say 'oh I can't judge that man, maybe the woman deserves to be stabbed'.

You're judging me all the time, as you should. Too bad you're a hypocrite about it.

The term 'lack of judgement' refers to a vice not a virtue.

But I suspect more colombians agree with me that Reyes' death is a good thing, as opposed to your view that is more aligned with Chavez.

You're free to try to pretend I am in favour of war, I've said nothing of the kind, quite the opposite in fact.

You're just not thinking straight, I suppose because you are mourning the death of this terrorist.

Claudía López is probably better off being censored or else she will be killed by paramilitarism.

Donlt you understand it is ok to censor if it protects the status quo, but once the status quo is not poretected by censorship as what happened with that TV station in Venezurela that supported an undemocratic coup, then it is NOT OK.

Smile if you are a thinker!
