Ecuador and Venezuela choose FARC over Colombia

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7274222.stm

What kind of nonsense is that???

Correa has 'links' to the FARC, Chavez is obviously devastated that FARCMAN Reyes is dead when he refers to the death of this man as " cowardly murder, all of it coldly calculated" furthermore labelling him as a "a good revolutionary"...

What more blatant support of the FARC do you want? Now they have the audacity to post troops on the border and start warlike moves?

It is clear that Colombia are fighting a three-pronged war against the FARC... having to deal with their moronic neighbours too.

Not to say that the 1.8 km breach of Ecuadorian territory was justified, but still...

It hurts. But they showed their real faces.
At least, all the politics parties and people from Colombia made one united block around Uribe.
I hope that they won't succeed in watering things in front of the International community.

Myles Frechette, a former ambassador to Colombia who works as a consultant in Washington, said the Colombians probably weighed the strike on Devia against the potential fallout from going into Ecuador. But he said repairing the diplomatic damage would be a challenge.

After the attack Colombia immediately offered the "cover up" to the international communty, Farc was initially engaged on the Colombian side of the border, Colombian forces then came under fire from FARC who crossed over into the Ecuadorian side, and engaged them as well, pretty simple IMO. Correa should have just STFU, and the news would have eventually boiled down, instead he shows his true colors. How many Ecuadorians were killed in the mist of all this?

if colombia moves more troops to the border, it will have a double effect. I t will put chavvie on notice and at the same time they can serve to close the frontier to the FARC, which uses the venezuelan side of the border for R & R and and resupply. colombia should have had troops clogging that border a long time ago, same as the border with the rats in ecuador.

exactly kat.

let's see, 1) armed FARC guerillas (a legitimate foreign army according to Chavez) cross into Ecuador
2) Colombia military gets them out of there
3) Chavez complains about Colombia and starts warmongering.

What has any of this got to do with venezuela? I guess Chavez already thinks he is in charge of Ecuador too. And still no word of complaint about the FARC incursion on foreign territory.

we all know Chavez is full of hot air and won't do anything, so it's nice for all to see in the open what he really stands for, as if there was any doubt before.
