CatGirl says on May 16, 2008, 21:39: Yep - I hate it when I get books like that, got to take it with a grain of salt. If it goes over the top - you just put it down or throw it in the round file Love and Time: the only two things that cannot be bought, but only spent 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

CatGirl says on May 17, 2008, 13:38: I am not familiar with this book, so I am assuming he was the author and his original submission was probably edited. It sounds like maybe he should have taken the time out to have someone else write it for him? I have read books like this before and the author's style was so bothersome I could not complete the book, but the info was useful - always wished they would have simply had someone else interview them and write it more professionally Love and Time: the only two things that cannot be bought, but only spent 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Mr. Hollywood says on May 18, 2008, 07:44: I have friends who were deeply involved in some of the historical events Perkins claims to have been a part of. Their response to the book was simply, "Never heard of the guy." If he played the roles he claims they would have known him.

Bluesdude says on Oct 1, 2008, 20:40: I read the book. Sure, maybe some embellishment and fictionalization, but it is logical that the US would do that. Think about it. You are a politician who has some US companies that have been lobbying and giving you campaign contributions, so you want to pay them back after you get elected. What better way than to authorize loans to foreign governments who you know will buy products and services from them based on the "justification" by the economic hit man. Not that the US government has ever interfered in the economic processes of a foreign government......... A guru once said, "the mind is like a drunken monkey." If that's true, then my mind is an orangutan on a binge 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
